What is adaptive sync?
My monitor has a feature called "adaptive-sync." When it's set to standard, I can use HDR simultaneously. But when I set it to advanced, HDR mode no longer works.
Apart from that, adaptive-sync in "Advanced" sets my screen directly to the highest resolution.
What exactly is adaptive sync? Is it an automatic setting that always displays the perfect image? It's also strange that when I set it to Advanced, I have to lower my brightness below 5%; otherwise, it's incredibly glaring, especially with text.
So does this somehow contribute to automatic image enhancement? Or should I leave it at default so HDR can remain enabled?
With Adaptive Sync, the monitor adapts the image repetition rate (which the monitor delivers in Hz) to the image repetition frequency (FPS in the game).
Eg: You have 80 FPS – the monitor automatically displays 80Hz. You have 100 FPS – the monitor automatically displays 100Hz etc.
This prevents Adaptive Sync stuttering, as the monitor almost adjusts its image rate to the image repetition frequency in real time.
My screen then still has the setting "Motion Blur Reduction". Which one is better suited for games? Or is HDR mode best for it?
This depends entirely on your personal taste. What's yours? The motion blur reduction reduces the motion blur. The ones like the motion blur, the others don't.
