first he learns to pick up the horse – so go to the horse, help him put on, lead the horse and it is shown how to connect a horse.

then comes brushing, hufcare, saddles and trimming, post-belt, adjust the pitcher length, sit up, post-belt, the correct seat and then the horse is guided and the whisker tries to keep the seat in step and get used to the movement of the horse on the straight and during change of direction and can also be released when he feels safe enough to the wide, sometimes.

at the end of the hour the correct sitting is explained and carried out and then the horse is supplied.

no commands.

and the reins are not in the hand. the are knotted on the horse neck or are agreed.

not only what happens on the horse, but also what happens on the horse. there are commandos missing from the square.

Such instructions don’t go with me… In the first hour on the horse, something like “just look at the eyes and feel the movement” or “luck 10 apples and count loudly with”

In the first RS one (as and had also written) would not even have reins in the hand..

On the first day you do not get the reins in your hand while you sit on the horse.

You make shoulder circles, you reach down to the stirrups, your ears, your ears to the back to the tail, pick apples, …

These are also the instructions.

that’s always different.

there are concepts for this, but no pressed scheme, because every person and every horse is an individual.

No.

but there are probably stalks where from the beginning is crittled and commanded around.

I once agreed to give an hour to a girl who had been pruned from the beginning and had always felt wrong and being too stupid.

because she really wanted to learn so hard and so liked to ride at least so much to be able to go on a step-by-step, I have agreed to give her hours of positive reinforcement can be almost miraculously guarded.

it’s not about making it wrong, it’s about making it right.

I’m afraid I know a lot of them. They come to us to make vacations, ride pretty brav but hardly standing on the ground they can’t do anything.

I’ve read your answers, and it’s not clear to me what you want to get out of. Riding is not a mechanical sport that runs under instruction, but a dialogue. With horse, rider and trainer.

Things like “just sitting, hands deep” etc. cannot be implemented by a beginner. He doesn’t know how it feels correctly, nor what the trainer means.

At the beginning it is about learning to feel. How does a horse move, how does it move me as a rider, how can I move the horse as a rider. Action and reaction.

The “instruction” that I’ve heard in every (!) hour for about 20 years, are “do not forget about breaths!” and “Smile, that should be fun!”

There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers.

Forget everything you heard.

Please don’t first build the roof and only then build the basement.

Here, too, life is not a pony farm. Instructions are concrete, precise without any courtesy, are not meant evil.

Don’t try anything you don’t know.

Anyone who laughs at someone here will leave soon.

Yesterday you could ride well, today you ride better and tomorrow you ride perfectly.

First the seat, then the help, then the riding.

A horse is a horse, no friend and no partner. Treat it as a horse it will be at your service. Treat it as a human being and it will become dangerous to you.

You’re not a horse.

Since each RS is different, it is difficult.

Often it is in peace the strength lies. Beg your pardon.

But a lot of things are already being worked out at the wooden horse, at the Longe before riding.

Yes and the student is totally overwhelmed

If you sit on the horse, I would say first, you should feel the movements of the horse. In my opinion, without saddle, it would be best to feel the movement/muscle tension etc better. But is problematic with the back of the horse ect. So if you want to look at the health of the horse, I would take a riding pad or something. Of course, you can also walk with saddle.

Then light volcanic exercises would come with me, that is not hand level but “test”. Especially with children is quite funny and simply shows that you don’t have to be afraid of and on the horse.

Then light trenches (at the clock) would be an important point (of course at the Longe) and also gallop, etc. There are then calm hands and a balanced, independent seat.

Then slowly, gradually the gears with reins.

In addition to this, of course always Theory! And also before the first Horse ridingI think it’s time to come theory. Just like plasters, saddles, behavior etc (I find it very bad that there are horse stables in which the horses cannot be cleaned in front of the RS…)

I also find it very important not to simply pull the reins, but with seat and leg etc. Generally, this is in the direction of “horse-friendly” and not in the direction of “I want to ride no matter what the horse says”. But this is not until the rider sits on the horse without a longe/guide. Bzw can also be discussed/learned beforehand.

But in the first hour as I said only: “Theory” and feel..

You want more than that.

Do you like to explain the background of your question?

Do you want to know what will happen to you as a whip student?
Or understand why certain things are always told you as a whip student what you don’t understand?

Or do you want to know what you have to say as a riding instructor (I hope not…)?

I’m writing a story.

Sorry, I’ll be out of here.

My story plays exactly when they learned riding.

“Früher” was all better – a much greater self-evidentness prevailed due to the coexistence and disposition of animals and human beings.

There were no trainers in the crowd, but the child was simply put on the horse during field work and finished. Feeding, keeping and handling learned the children from the Pike.

For those who came to the cavalry or the upper layer there were of course other possibilities, but that was more the exception than the rule.

At first you usually learn to get, clean and prepare the horse. I can’t talk about my experience where I was taught in the first two, three riding hours was reasonable to sit and can ride without hands step and trab. This is often achieved by exercises like picking fruit from the air, etc.

First of all, you learn where the front and back are, how you sit and that you can’t forget to breathe 😀

Then let yourself wear loose, feel the swing of the horse and start to get used to it, in the beginning it is really much and confusing and seemingly impossible.

Therefore: Relax, breathe in and out and smile, more you don’t have to do at the beginning.

With a good teacher, he learns in the first hours: brush, lock, care, tumbler and saddle and rise

At the beginning, it will be longed, as primary exercises are made for the balance.
