What happens next with child benefit?
I grew up with my grandmother, who also received child benefit for me. I worked without training and am now starting my training on September 1, 2023, and could therefore really use my child benefit. So, I applied through my biological mother, with the payment due date being my bank account. The child benefit office has now written back that my grandmother is still entitled to the benefit because I'm registered with her. The problem is, I am actually registered with her, but I pay for things myself, like food and everything else that comes up (I manage my own finances, so it's not a community in that sense), except for the rent, which is free of charge for me.
How do I proceed now?
You have to settle this with your grandma yourself, but if you live there for free, then you are good with 250 euros, because there is not only one roof above your head, but also electricity and water.
You can take it off and see if you get it for 250 euros a month!
As long as you don’t have your own registration, you don’t have the child’s money from the family fund, which would only be the case if you don’t min from the parents. In the case of a child’s allowance, the child’s allowance would be paid.
If you move out and have your own apartment, you can “be done.” Otherwise, your grandma will remain the references. And she gives you a roof over your head, which she also finances from child money.
Okay, and if I change and live alone, then I’m entitled to child money even if I don’t have to pay rent in my new accommodation?
If you do not meet the requirements for the provision of child allowance and your parents do not pay at least a child’s allowance, you can submit the request for a branch. The child’s money has nothing to do with rent.
With your grandmother, you can handle it yourself. After all, you live there almost free.
A claim for payment to yourself, you only have if you have your own apartment
