What happens in the mail investigation, Deutsche Post?
I would be interested to know.
Suppose I were to send a letter now with quite a lot of incorrect address data. The letter would now only contain the recipient's name, place of residence, and if applicable, postal code.
Would this letter actually be sorted out and put into letter tracing, or would it first be returned to the sender if there is one?
Can Deutsche Post identify the recipient with such specific data and deliver the letter?
Then he’s inaccessible and comes back.
Without sender: Servicecenter Letter determination in Marburg. They can also open it and try to find out the sender.
Depends on how much is wrong with the address and whether the recipient is relatively easy to determine.
For example, I live in a street whose name contains a “ö” and a “ß” and in a place where a “ö” is also included. I get regular mail from a country where you don’t know “ö” (yet, and ü) or “ß”.
The letters leave the sender away, and the street and place name on the letter sounds like you would speak Klingon. He still does come with me, as you still see what road is meant.
Without a street indication (as it seems to be) it will certainly not work. Unless the place is very(!) small (e.g. 500 inhabitants village) and the mailing agent knows practically everyone, only after the name.
If the letter cannot be delivered, he will return to the sender. If all helpful information is missing on the envelope, the envelope may be opened to search for an address note in the letter. If this is missing, there is an extermination.
And… who pays 85 cents can nicjt expect the post to spend hundreds of EUR on working hours for the sender’s sloppyness.
