What exactly does Steam Support want from me?
I would like to get permission to make the Steam shop page for one of my games public on Steam, but at the moment I don't understand the exact requirements of Steam support or what exactly they want from me, what I should write in the description so that I can finally get the green light and put the shop page for my game online?
This is my third attempt and it takes 2-3 days to get a response!
What exactly does Steam Support want me to add to the description? Because I've already mentioned as much as there is to know about the game without spoiling the rest of the plot…
They also suggested something like: " (FPS, puzzle game, survival, RTS " but where exactly should I put that in the description if it even belongs there, or whatever they mean by that?
The rejection email:
My description in Steamworks:
Well, under "About this game" you didn't exactly describe what the game is about. Features, content, gameplay.
You just write something about the background of the story, but nothing about the actual gameplay. Theoretically, this could be a shooter or a card game.
Simply read and understand the text and expand the description based on it.
For example, I don't know what kind of graphics are used, what the game principle is (resolve puzzles? Kill enemies?), what kind of representation is blurred (First-Person-3D? Isometric?….), how the control works etc. pp.
Let yourself be inspired by the descriptions of similar games.
Would the official trailer help you give me a better answer?
I would say too little content.
Even with other trash games from the Yandere division, the volume is well and liked to be twice as long, especially gameplay mechanics and special features correspondingly highlighted.
Your description is not only very short, it does not even reveal anything about the gameplay to be expected. And this is simply too opaque as a 'sales argument' as well as product description. The support will therefore probably require a revision.
The totaled game should initially only be an occasional game and can be played in max. 20min. the purchase price is free
To this end, this game will only be a previous game that should explain the background story to its successor, that an infinite RPG game will be that you can play if you want infinitely long…
How does it look now from the part of the description I have upgraded the following (now in Steamworks):
Maybe you're still writing exactly the game mechanics. From what perspective do you experience the whole thing, how is the game history, do you have to solve puzzles, or do you have to fight/shoot, are there levels, etc.?
What are the elements? Are there any special skills? Can you interact with the environment?
Keep in mind how many levels there are, or what “Challenges” you have built in. Search things
There's a challenge I don't want all the spoilers. All I had stated at the moment should describe the game but without the complete game to spoilers.
Currently there is only "you have to escape". That's true for 850,000 games. You can describe a game very accurately without "spoiling".
How is the improvement that I wrote in the commentary area at "Limearts"?
You just have to write more about it.
what exactly? I have said everything there is to know in the description but still it is rejected with the following support email (see picture)?
And try to check the spelling! Btw would like to try your game :).
The exact description of the game as well as, for example, they are immersed in a world… etc.Look at the description of other games and maybe then comes an idea.
Because I would otherwise be asked to advertise directly here and this question is deleted more quickly before I can see the first answers.
(My past experience)
if I tend to comment on it and you ask me directly then it seems to be great.
In addition, I can't say anything about it if the Char doesn't even know about it after the story:
Why do you censor the name of the game first and now you send us the trailer with the name of the game?
So… after watching the trailer, I find the description pretty good…
Maybe you fill this with a few info…
Name of the character? What year is the story? When did she take him? (or how many days have you been kidnapped?) and what else could you write in?
Or, for example, that you have a flashlight to help…
To the flashlight: Do you always have them or do you get them later? (So what else could you write…)
And your description… Section 2, line 1:
" To escape from the unknown facility, they must go through many doors,"
Do you really have to "go through many doors," or "do you have to go through many doors"?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD2wz76R-xo
Well… without knowing the game or the gameplay or even having seen anything from the game… you can't say anything about it…
As I translate this has already its correctness but how is this update?
Description:
Since your description is in English (see picture 2) I would https://spellcheck24.net/ take this is their English page ^
