What does the student company do?
Hey, at my school, there's a so-called student company, which is run by my math teacher. I personally find it really exciting. But I have no idea what you do there. The company runs until Q1, and I'm in Q1. Would I still be able to join then? I'm afraid to ask him, though, because it says you can register either in person or via Moodle.
What should I do and does anyone know what to do?
So there are actually training companies, you have to imagine something like a role-playing game, a role-playing game about a company, so there is shopping and selling, financial accounting and wage accounting, sales and management, only the money that there is not. These are just numbers on paper, like at Monopoly, you can buy buildings, but nothing is real, neither the goods nor the money. But the workflows, how to make such an order, or accounting, that’s real.
And in such training companies you do all that then you work with other training companies, that can be other companies of schools, or even training companies that build up something like that for the trainees, because you can make even more cheerful mistakes here, as it is not about real money, but about getting to know the workflows
If I’m not mistaken, this is all regulated in the “Central Exercise Company Ring” for short.
Ahh okay super thank you!
Probably the students behave in a student company – like adults in a real company.
The pupil company can also be real – so not only theoretically, as if one works and earns money, but the pupils also provide real services (e.g. in a pupil cafĂ©) that one sells. You learn responsibility and how it could be so later…
So the only thing I know is that they also make the food plans for our mensa. And thank you!
Well, maybe there’s a cook or a delivery service for the Mensa food. The Mensa-Essen is then purchased by the students of AG (or from their company) and sold to the students. There is a lot to do so that it always works well.
Hello All,
Student companies do not only work theoretically. Most sell real products (e.g. T-shirts, honey) or offer real service readings (help, etc.). It is exciting that real money is also taken and spent and that students learn how to deal with money and how a company/company works. Of course, these are small companies that only work in the school area and are not profitable.
If you need more information about pupil companies, you can find out on the pages of the Education Foundation:

Here you will also find sample projects and potential funding for pupil companies.
