I recently recovered data from a corrupted USB flash drive and encountered the error message "Certain bad sectors in DBR." (I don't remember which program it was in). Does anyone know what DBR stands for? (My guess is that it's the same as MBR.)

In a NAS with two slots in a RAID 1 array, do the installed hard drives have to be absolutely identical, or can you use two different manufacturers/models? It's obvious that you're using the same capacity anyway.
MBR is the Main Boot Record, DBR stands for the partition boat sector of the stick. Is responsible for the boottrap, i.e. the boot program of the operating system.
