What does APN mean?
Hi, I'm currently trying to install "Airalo" for my trip abroad so I can have internet access there. My brother has had excellent experiences with it. However, he has iOS and can't answer my question. The attached image says that you have to enter an APN yourself on Android. Unfortunately, I have no idea what that means. Can someone explain this to me, seriously, for the idiots? I'm not tech-savvy at all.
APN = Access Point Name.
This is the access point (gateway) from the mobile data network to the cellular network or internet, which a mobile phone or IoT device communicates to the mobile operator when it wants to retrieve data. This data is provided by the mobile operator.
And how do I contact the mobile operator? You can laugh if you like 😂
Have you tried following the provider's instructions?
Wat
The comment specifically says to read the instructions, have you done that yet?
Either buy a prepaid card on site or order it online beforehand.
That's tragic… Do you know any alternatives other than spontaneously signing a cell phone contract in Japan?
If your phone is not eSIM capable then you cannot use the Airalo eSIM.
I must have missed it. 😅 But it seems my phone isn't eSIM-enabled. So I can't use something like that, right?
