What does a siren look like?
I'm writing a book about a siren (mermaid, just "evil"). They're known for seducing men on the high seas with their song and then eating them. On land, however, they're human. What would you imagine a human siren to be like? What hair texture, eye color, or hair color? Skin color? Facial features?

Just pick something up. There are so many possibilities that you can bring in when you simply take into account fixed points such as living in the water.
There are different authors, etc.
For example, you could go in this direction

If they put their feet on dry land. But you could also choose a rather ‘moonful’ form, with distorted trains and sharp teeth and wet hair that hang them in their eyes like Samara from The Ring. You can also take them as a model for example a more water lily look if this suits you in the cram.
Beauty can also simply be a magic or an illusion, for example, by talking. As to get on with any hair or eye colors is not necessarily targeted in my eyes, but consider that unusual eyes may be It could have a deterrent effect. Depending on how these sirens in the country want to conjure their ‘poor’, they can be more targeted if they look just like a flawless, beautiful but HALBWEGS normal woman. What is normal is your fantasy universe
I have various books at home where they are presented differently. But I can tell you how they are displayed. Here are two examples:
There are ways in which a person can look inhuman or from another world without actually being qualified more than humans. In particular, very extreme colors, unusual colors and contrasts, extraordinary proportions etc. help. These are usually the things I choose for the appearance of characters that hide in a human form. Things that make them kind of noticeable, but you don’t see their true shape.
More concrete ideas would be:
Goldblonde hair, slim legs, brighter skin and as a “unnatural” feature really blue eyes you only get with contact lenses. Maybe they lure the men through their beauty and then eat them.
