What do you do with your rabbits when you are on vacation?
Hey,
I have a few questions about vacation and rabbits.
What do you do with keeping your rabbits in an enclosure while on vacation?
What do you do with your rabbits when they are kept indoors?
Who feeds your rabbits while you're on vacation?
Does your vacation replacement also clean the enclosure/toilets?
Hello, ππ½ββοΈπ€
When we go on vacation, relatives look after the rabbits. If they don't have time, friends take over.
We always create a precise schedule of who feeds when, and what each person should feed or do. This way, everyone who comes to care for the animals has different tasks.
My rabbits live outside in an enclosure. The person who knows the most about rabbits has to clean it at least once a week. Everyone else only has to clean the "tripe corners" daily.
Best regards, I hope I could help you ππβ€οΈ
With us you can always ask relatives to look after the rabbits and if they don't have time then other relatives π Regarding food, they usually let them know what they should give them (write a little list) and regarding mucking out and so on , some do that, others don't because they don't know so much about it but then we are usually not away for very long and as for letting them out or something like that, none of my relatives do that because they actually have a really big enclosure where they can run around during the day and night.
It's simple: someone comes by to feed the animals and, if necessary, clean their enclosure and/or litter boxes. We do this ourselves with our two cats. However, we're never away for longer than a weekend, simply because I'm particular about animals, and my partner knows that.
Hello,
My rabbits (two neutered males and one female) live outdoors in the garden. They have a hutch (relatively large) with an adjacent covered enclosure (unfortunately, there's no grass anymore because Lotti is always digging), which they can enter without restriction. They also have a very large outdoor enclosure for the daytime, made of a 90cm-high fencing (with fresh grass).
When we go on vacation, my grandma is usually in charge of feeding the rabbits (especially in the morning). If my grandma isn't there, my neighbors would take over. My friends usually collect rabbit food and would also clean out the rabbits if necessary.
I usually clean out the house the day before I go on holiday and since our rabbit has a very large run, it stays clean for about two weeks (I also know that you have to clean more often).
Since we only recently got the high fence, they can now go outside all day (before, Winnie always jumped out and you had to stay next to her when you let her out).
I give my African grey parrot to my neighbor who also has one and he always takes him when I am away for a longer time
He doesnβt want payment for it either
He is a man of honor
Our rabbits were always free to roam the garden all day anyway. When we were away, neighbors changed the food and water once a day, let them out in the morning, and put them back in their cage in the evening.
I used to give my rabbits to a farmer friend. Later, a friend took care of my animals, who also cleaned the cage, and I took care of her animals (rabbits and guinea pigs). We could rely on each other.
