What do I need to consider when getting a new EC card?
Hello everyone,
I just ordered a new debit card from my bank (Volksbank) via online banking because my current one keeps acting up and contactless payments never worked. What should I do once I get the new card? Is it the same with online banking, or do I have to apply for a new one somehow? What do I do with the old card?

The first time the card is stuck with PIN input.
Then you can pay contactless, below 50€ without PIN, from 50€ with PIN.
Contactless after that always goes, only from the 6th payment (some from the 11th) only with PIN.
That's all in the letter you get sent.
Online banking has nothing to do with the customer card or the Girocard.
You sign the new card and then destroy the old one.
