What do different stanza lengths in poems mean?
Hi, I'm currently examining the poem "Wonne der Einsamkeit" by Ludwig Tieck (1802), and I noticed that almost every stanza has a different length, except for the first two. What could this mean?
Don't cheat and look on the internet.
Can someone please help me to see if the sentences make sense or if there are any spelling mistakes. Thanks.
I just looked at this one again. And I suspect that the verses here are simply line groups that belong together in content. One actually speaks of verses only because they can be sung with repeated melody as in a song. I used to get to know the term verse groups, which seems to be very suitable here.

The length of the individual stanzas is different from the first two. I would possibly understand these two as a kind of introduction before it goes into more detail.
