What causes this screen problem?

For some time now, my Windows desktop PC has been experiencing a problem where the main screen displays a "picture error" for the first few minutes upon startup. I've tried various HDMI and DisplayPort cables. I've also updated my Nvidia graphics card driver, but the problem persists. When I connect the monitor to my MacBook, this issue doesn't occur. Does anyone know what this problem is or what might be causing it?

Hello!

This is a hardware damage in the monitor.

The electrical contacts of the panel are only glued below the frame.

And this adhesive dissolves piece by piece due to the heat load there.

This indicates a very soon (final) death of the monitor.

Either you try to create a matching exchange display, or you buy a new monitor.

Apparently there are some repair options:

But that’s something “obskur”. So be very careful if you want to try it.

Did you read the text completely?

If I connect the monitor with my Macbook, this problem does not occur.

This suggests that it is on the GPU. Soldering point at VRAM no longer quite ok e.g. B.

Thanks for the hint!

It really escaped me… :-/

My mistake!

And because of this, I can only agree with your assessment of the problem.

But to find the error and then fix it…

There should be an experienced expert.

Only to be able to handle a soldering iron is not enough.

And to “bake” the Graka in the oven, as I once saw on YT…

I don’t know…

This would then already be a real “desiration measure” with a high potential for destruction.

I always have after vacation when the monitor and/or PC was too long.
