  • the car with my seat reservation did not exist (HH-B)
  • my seat there was not (Osnabrück-B)
  • my train station was not approached but left out (Berlin-Bochum)
  • 3.5 h delay because Brand next to the route (Bremen-Bremerhaven), we in the middle
  • puking child in compartment in which the air conditioning had failed (Hannover-Berlin) – life hack: coffee powder neutralizes the stench of vomit
  • Train stays on track due to signal disorder (Berlin-Amsterdam, missed all connection trains), here also failure of air conditioning
  • Policy in own car (Berlin-Hamburg)
  • 2 (!) Emergency in the board restaurant, stood on the track for 2 h with closed doors, where no ambulance came and had to wait for Helis (Berlin-Hannover)
  • rupture disc in the drive vehicle (same distance, same train)
  • Rail replacement traffic for the failed railway does not know the way around, procedures in the forest, passing the station (Bremen-Bremerhaven)
  • outgoing toilet (Bremen-Berlin)
  • Train didn't drive (3 x in two years)
  • otherwise the usual delays from an hour upwards – ALWAYS, and I travel a lot
  • Tickets booked, tickets paid, tickets dive in the app as canceled (now experienced three times)

Hello juliadan6,

in ICE the ETCS had failed on a new fast track. The Tf had tried everything to get it started again – but we only got on kilometers for kilometers.

Then something went back and we could reach the nearest station. There we were allowed to take a detour, had to leave again during the night due to the construction work started – and so it became later and later.

Since the "warm" I like to drive with this train that I'm here this time, you better take another train. And it'll be back soon…

I have also had the case that we had to give up a whole train, because it should be used to evacuate another lying ICE. I like to help, because from the train station there were other travel options.

On July 22nd, 1975 I celebrate my second birthday, because only a few seconds I missed the death train at the Hamburg Main Station. I had roamed on my way to the station, looked at the shop window and met a former schoolmate. The train just left when I got down the stairs. I took the next train, which then stopped in Harburg and all the travelers had to switch to provided buses. On the way home we saw the misfortune. I always put myself in the first wagon to save a long footpath across the tracks. I still see the scene in front of me today: a steeply rising wagon that was bristled. That was the wagon where there were 11 dead.

In the summer you will be in full S-Bahn, where Pampa will experience a car damage and not be allowed to get out. Three hours!

BTW: Air conditioning was not yet available!

From train delays are complete failure. So far, I haven't had to leave the train on an open track, or something…

I had to beat myself twice at or after a storm through half Germany – partly with regional trains and buses. Of course both times with a pile of luggage.

The train can't do anything for the storm itself, but the information was disastrously bad and the maintenance of its rail network has not been the strong side of the DB for a long time.

My worst DB experiences were that in both parts of the region, the toilet was out of operation and I had to leave the train to be able to do my business outside the train in a department store!

The connecting trains then of course had considerable delays as expected! .

Delays and even worse downtimes. Multiple consecutive failures.

Sit on the train for a suicide for two hours and hardly get any information.

No announcements at the station, delayed trains up to 2 hours

3 hours in the remaining S-Bahn hocken – in winter, with unusual heating. That was the other day.

Some punks were on the train. And one was in the roll.

Then they fell in on a stop quite spontaneously that they had to get out. The mate in the Rollie was not kept in mind.

Real poverty.

At least put me in the door, then one came back and helped him.

Six hours from Frankfurt Airport to Düsseldorf HBF.

Should have lasted 11 minutes for 1 hour.

Except for delays of a few minutes nothing, I don't understand it

Then you haven't really gained experience yet.

I've been driving 50 times

If I keep going, I don't have a driving license

Then you don't depend on the train, do you?

You wouldn't complain if you couldn't drive your monthly card for three weeks?

Ne with me it was halfway ok, I am not a full German whining aunt

And never missed the connection? Never any change of track that was communicated too late? Just some train failures for short-term illness or something? Month-long failures of certain routes such as the Riedbahn between Frankfurt and Mannheim? Or between Stuttgart and Zurich? The route was out of operation from May to December. And so the list could still be continued until infinity.

I didn't have any bad experiences with the train.

I honestly don't believe you.

You've probably never been on the train before?

How do I know?

own experience – I return about 30,000 kilometers a year by train.
