I assume you didn’t ask the question to expand your general knowledge, but because you’re wondering if a job as an app developer would be something for you…

I looked at your other questions and answers….

What is the solution…

How is it…

…Blah & Blubbb….

You are not guaranteed to solve other logical/technical problems! Many of your questions are about mathmatic-logical tasks that can be solved without being a genius.

Whether you’re currently just too lazy to find your own solutions or are really not capable of disqualifying you as a developer.

Look in your profile and tell me what you can give answers…

I don’t want to miss your dreams. I’ve been boss for years and can reasonably guess who’s suitable for what…

I didn’t do my job because he was paid well, but because I had fun on it. I got money for getting things right well for which most other people had no solution.

Many look at the money that can be earned and believe it is just the rowing of commands that tell the arithmetic what to do.

That’s not even half the truth.

Developers are extremely creative people who not only tell a computer what to do. You need to grasp, solve problems, wishes, needs of other people, and also the ability to deal quickly and successfully with the subject areas necessary for solving the problem.

If you want to earn money with program development, you don’t program what you want to do in the silent chamber, but you have to deliver what others want. …and have fun.

If you write an app for a chemical laboratory technician, which amounts of material are calculated, you also need the necessary knowledge in chemistry in addition to your programming skills (or you need to quickly acquire it in the necessary extent).

  • You must be able with a client (who has no idea of programming) to adjust the requirements to an optimal degree for you and him. (It’s very hard to use if you want to solve utopian problems that lie outside your imagination)
  • You need to know how users are ticking and how they want to communicate with your application.
  • Which built-in help are necessary?
  • Users rarely do what they should. (The well-known example: enter a number, 95% try an empty input or “dfrtgjjffkkz”) . You have to anticipate what can happen in the stupidest case and capture this discreetly (without error message and jerk).
  • Today, apps often require external data sources, so you have to be able to access the same. Not always have the necessary data a standardized format, as you need to recognize its pattern in raw data and to separate important things from garbage.

…and you have to do that with enthusiasm for 40 years. A learned app developer is after having done that quite long in his way of thinking (expressed primarily) especially 🧐🤓🤔. If he throws the job, he should already have a damn good plan B, or he’ll clean up shelves. (Since I am a developer/programmer in retirement, I can also call it “Fachidiot”)

Schizofrenie?

Whoever is less suitable as a developer from your “duo” does not emerge from your profile.

I find it important to identify possible problems or strengths, particularly in the case of questions that have been formulated in a short time, in which a response to the further path of life can have an effect. This is best about a user’s profile. Questions and answers usually define the character.

Your disappointing-explosive reaction shows me that I am not so wrong with my answer.

I believe that it is better not to promote excessive utopias. What you do with the information is ultimately your problem.
