What tree did you choose? Since many trees already in winter form the leaf buds for the coming spring.

There are also very many small animals in the leaves, such as rainworms, which are sometimes responsible for the decomposition of the leaflets. But also beetles, (marriage beetles), caterpillars, snails, etc., which protect themselves from the cold. Some birds live away. Especially amsules can be observed very well when they turn around the foliage on food search.

I wish a happy and healthy new year.

I have the same problem but I don’t know what tree you have.

I got the birch and I found ants and rainworms.

I hope I could help you.
