What about my rabbit?
Hi everyone, my rabbit has been sick for a while. We've already been to the vet, and she's been given various medications, but her condition is still fluctuating, and the vets weren't entirely sure what's wrong with her. She's still eating, but less than before and just lies around a lot.
She obviously has balance problems or something similar, she keeps pulling her hind legs up towards her and often slips with her front paws, so she walks very clumsily.
In addition, she has breathing problems and is constantly breathing really, really fast, sneezing occasionally and has a slight nasal discharge.
In addition, she is incontinent and has little control over her bladder.
I will definitely spare no expense or effort to get her treated and will also get another opinion from a third vet, but until I find a good specialist, maybe you have some ideas about what could be wrong with her :/
That sounds adhoc as if it had a stroke (E.coli and other parasites are probably already excluded). The worst is, however, that it does not eat independently or apparently not enough. A rabbit that does not eat well dies within a short time due to a bowel closure.
So currently forced feeding is announced, then check blood values etc. In many construction sites, however, one must also see how the animal suffers from the symptoms.
E.c is currently suspected of giving away drugs and forced feeding we also do, the food bream takes them even voluntarily from spoons or plates. She had Maden (which I think would happen in the case of proper posture and care, but that would all have happened to her at our vacation agency) but has already received medis against them and they were discovered in time. Otherwise, the next investigations will begin tomorrow. Many thanks for the helpful answer
Hello!
Just read that you have already written that the veterinarian suspects EC. What did he find that about? Was your rabbit tested positively before EC? The symptoms of EC are very similar to the symptoms of ear inflammation. Could ear inflammation be excluded via X-rays?
Nice to help your rabbit. If you have any questions, maybe I can help 🙂
Love
It has not yet been tested positively by E.c but will follow at the latest after the treatment. Ear inflammation could be excluded by X-ray 🙂
You called in the demand that the medicines have not yet beaten. With an EC outbreak, you usually see no improvement after a short time, it can even deteriorate.
Unfortunately, if you had to experience an EC outbreak, you should have questions, please contact us.
Good improvement for the rabbit!
