If your order comes from China, that's normal.

A package with DHL from China is too expensive, so Chinese retailers label the package with a label that says it's for a package from Germany to Germany. The sender is some kind of returns warehouse.

The packages are then bundled with the domestic German label and flown to Germany, and someone here hands them over to DHL.

Since the transport was not previously done with DHL, there will be no update for several weeks while the package is waiting for the flight/being cleared through customs.

If your package does not come from China, I would ask you to contact the sender as the package has not yet been sent.

Although this is tolerable given the holiday season. The seller probably received a lot of orders over the holidays and can't keep up with packing.

Or DHL can't keep up with processing incoming shipments…

What was the delivery date stated when you ordered?

That cannot be the case, a dealer in the EU is obliged to do so and for other dealers outside the former can be applied with China.

Of course, it's possible that a package from China will be on the road for weeks before it even reaches DHL. In China, packages are usually first taken to a collection point within the country, as a larger number of shipments can be shipped more cheaply (per package) than a smaller one. Sometimes there's even another collection point at the airport. Then comes the exit customs in China. The shipment then waits for a cheap flight.

Once in the EU, the game starts in reverse: customs, distribution to regional warehouses, then delivery warehouses, and so on.

It was just luck that it went a few times faster.

Anyone who orders from China must be patient.

No. It's not coming. It's not even with DHL yet. If your father ordered it, it could be coming from China.

Why should anyone other than DHL have more information about a DHL package than DHL?

The package has been electronically announced on the DHL tracking page for a week, so nothing is moving forward

Then the solution to the mystery is quite simple: The package wasn't sent. A parcel stamp was simply purchased online.

Why shouldn't that be possible? The sender didn't send the package.

Believe it or not, it doesn't change anything. Of course, you can continue like this and be surprised every day that the imaginary information from some site that couldn't possibly know it isn't true. Have fun!
