What's June 12 like in Russia? Is it special?

Hello, I'm actually in Russia until June 11th and am wondering if it's worth staying an extra day for Russia Day. What exactly happens there, and are Germans welcome in Russia on that day?

I don't think this is quite as spectacular as the day of victory, for example, so I just think it's a holiday and more not. That you are German should definitely not be a problem, but what happens very interesting on the day I don't know.

As far as I know it's June 12th. such a national holiday in Russia!

I don't know how to celebrate, but guess with lots of vodka and lots of pathos!
