I bought a game from Steam today and saw in the guides that there was an uncensored patch. The download site was called WeTransfer and seemed relatively reputable. My question is, is downloading such a patch illegal?

At WeTransfer, everyone can upload something. That doesn’t say anything about whether the files contain something illegal.
WeTransfer is a file hosting service introduced in 2009. So the site is legal… whether the offered content is legal, is of course another thing! 🙂
