As a rule, international mail is transported by air freight. Transport by ship, train or truck is rather rare, but also occurs.

The drug dog smells at the mailings, but otherwise Spain is part of the EU’s internal space, so they remain letters in the country. Between Hamburg and Munich there are no checks for letters, just between Madrid and Berlin.

Spain is an EU country. There is no customs between countries.

If you get a customs mail order then you have to pay the customs and 6€ expenses at the post office or in the branch. You will also see the mail and DHL app. What does not come is an SMS or mail that calls for an online payment.

Again. There is no customs clearance for shipments within the EU. Neither for letters or for parcels nor for packages and also not for whole pallets full of goods.

The fact that the consignment arrives at Frankfurt am Airport does not mean that it is processed by customs.
