I have 5 Alexas in the house and yes, she listens…

She listens until she hears her name, only then does she turn on the line home, because after all she has to know what to do and that makes Amazon a “Call Center”, or a trained AI…

Ask your girlfriend if she uses “Siri”…

There’s the same principle…

So I control my TV, the amplifier and the tuner as a combination with Alexa, plus various lamps and sockets.

And she’s a music player. She can be a timer, and a monitor for the baby monitor.

If you get one, you won’t be able to miss them anymore. I have a total of 5 pieces, with 2 of them being “show” ‘s…

So she only hears what others say… Without having formed your own opinion…

I once had a first help course, there was “Alexa” a life savior – she even heard the emergency at home and sent the rescue…

Isn’t all bad what’s new and what’s listening…

So you could also confuse ChatGPT, which is far more dangerous…

I have two Alexas.

Best I find my morning routine, she says good morning, turn on the little light and launches the coffee machine (smart sockets), tells me the news, the weather and some random news. Then the larger light is switched on. And background noises are started (then it is not so quiet).

I also have a routine that switches off all sockets/lights when I go.

Uzw.

I use it as a timer, or if she wants to count something together or she tells me how a word is written. Playlists etc.

She is not particularly smart (yet). But it’s useful for me. You can also choose a male voice, but I find too unfamiliar.

I chose another trigger word.

You connect smart sockets in your WLan, you can then drive them (on/off) with Alexa if they are compatible.

Then you can assign groups to the outlets (bedroom, kitchen) or contact them individually (coffee machine).
And between “Good morning” say and Telling something new then you have an instruction coffee maker.

This works, for example, with coffee machines that have a tilting switch.

What Alexa stores can be set in the settings if you put the hook in the case of product improvements then it could be that any one at Amazon listens to the course of the conversation.

The question is what you want to use Alexa I think Alexa is pretty stupid and in times of AI only right

There are no alternatives…

And AI’s in there too, one that learns…

The answers are pretty bad for that.

And of course there are alternatives Rhasspy is one of them

When it’s just about playing music, most radio speakers can only be easier with an Alexa.

Deruser1973 probably misunderstood me I am not in principle against or for Alexa.

I just think they’re pretty stupid the answers to questions often don’t.

Play music and smart home control.

On the subject of data protection and settings read here

It’s good… don’t let you confuse, buy yourself an Echo Dot..

If it doesn’t meet your expectations, you’ve only spent 40 euros…

And you can turn off the device when the girlfriend is here…

She always has her Siri, or Cortana, or how they all know…

And Facebook (Instagram) also reads with…

This is the modern world…

I also come from the 70s

A few years ago, I also stood before the decision openHap or Home Assistant.

Are both time machines (time runs faster when you sit in front) and the development at least at Home wizard is fast. Since staying on the run is not possible to me, but I have been waiting for a mature voice control for longer.

It’s not always easy to get a little skinny on the subject of spelling as a legassian. I’m not stupid, but I can’t write.

I still have 34 employees in an industrial company.

I wish you and your family a nice resting Christmas alternative a relaxing time and a happy next year.

It wouldn’t have happened with a beer in reallife, you have to admit to hitting an idiot here is not impossible.

I have alexa too

Use it to control parts of Home Assistant and some music

I have to give her the advice.

Data protection settings should be adapted once.

deruser1973

Hmm, I also have Home Assistant running, but find myself better in OpenHab. And it takes me a lot of time than 50 years to think of me in a completely different way of thinking of Home Assistant…

But thanks for your links that are already saved…

deruser1973

Sorry, I didn’t mean to attack you…

Alexa can tell you what you want – a radio loudspeaker always needs to use an accessory, such as a smartphone – but you rarely have in the shower and there is music already something nice…

Or cooking

Alexa tells me a recipe for Christmas, or fire pliers…

And how long is the timer going to tell me how long the daughter is already sitting in front of the phone…

And she also tells jokes… And Pupst and rülpst quite enormously, which the attending children always enjoy… funny, who creates such skills…

I like to accept your apology and look forward to it.

In jealousy this can happen quickly I myself do not speak freely of it.

PS in Home Assistants are working on integration or there is already one.

Thanks for the link, you like to hear new…

But I’m currently too busy with my OpenHab control to implement this, but if I find time, I’ll test it…

In that case, I must apologize.

Asking whose horizon is limited is spelling has little in common with intelligence

deruser1973

Yeah, the answers could be better…

But

There are no real alternatives…

The Raspi alone does nix – then your intelligence must be in it – and if you can’t even write the word correctly, I can imagine how great DIE is….

You won’t listen, the recordings won’t be heard except you. It is also only recorded when you say the activation word.

I use a Google Home mini for my smartphone and other things and can only recommend it.

beelee

This is only activated when you say the trigger word.
If you’ve turned on Google Assistant, for example, it’s the same.
They don’t have any personnel who can listen to millions of devices. And nothing is saved. AUch if the storage space has become cheap.
To save insane squadron, it is too expensive

DodgeRT

There are no additional costs except you want to have Spotify and Co

It’s easier to listen to your phone. It also has a microphone which is constant, you almost always have it with you and certainly closer than your echo.

It’s worth it if you have a smart home. Otherwise, all functions already have on your phone.

because:

datfn are not stored on the device but on the internet

bedienjng is fummy, must be trchnik affin

you need several for all rooms or stereo and reception

unnecessary electricity consumption

use is too low, go also via handy as well

I still use my handy fie tastatur today instead of speech recognition. less misunderstandings and what I do will not be public about audio

I’ve been worried about that alexa getting fucked up with my dad. search history and accidentally ribbed fotmularftlder such as passwords

it is a loudspeaker that can surre. as I like quiet and dad may not cover with noise, no option for me

I believe written more and am too curious suf pictures. alexa can display nix

If you commit a crime, you can be identified. alib. hearing is possible with falsified

All that is said when the microphone is on is stored at Amazon – and I believe forever!

Alexa can’t do anything you think or want!

Alexa makes mistakes!

I think I have read somewhere that even the mouse movements are stored.

deruser1973

I don’t think I want to know everything

Singuli

As I said, let Amazon get the stored data about you.

deruser1973

Then they would waste a lot of money…

I can imagine that the recognized sentences are stored pure as text, so only the letters…

And they can’t drive you to the carts anymore, which is why most opponents are afraid…

Apparently, all Alexa opponents are any criminals who are afraid of the future…

If you want to obey, you can do that even without an echo…

Singuli

But in my opinion this is saved 100% because it serves to refine speech recognition. Keywords artificial intelligence.

deruser1973

I can’t imagine, at least not verbally, that would be unmistakable words that all the Speicheplatz bear…

I only think of what the children are screaming all into the micro, first, whether it is understood at all and whether the second can be implemented for the same reason… To save this is certainly not what Amazon will make big…

And there are many children…

They have already complained about the sensuality, because users do not do what “Alexa” was originally intended for – are a shopping aid…

Yes, because, in my opinion, Amazon is not data protection-friendly.

I can only advise to let Amazon get the data stored on it.

deruser1973

Well, a pot in the year, for the fire pliers bowle, it’s not gonna tear out.

And the rest of the beverages I buy at the beverage trader who knows that I like to fetch because he often supplies me various beer table dishes including enough beer and others,…

Meat buys my wife and I also have a grill that often smokes through the area… With nice people next door, everyone likes to celebrate with me…

I got all the accessories out of Amazon…

And I note the privacy much more than the most mesmerized people around me…

So, now tell me what score I have with you….

Singuli

Maybe you’ll be declared alcohol-dependent if you buy the wrong things more often. Or you’re classified as a vegetarian because you never buy meat at the supermarket. Unemployed people can also be seen at times when they shop in the supermarket.

The problem is that something happens or decision is made without you notice it

deruser1973

I don’t have any problems – Amazon wanted to turn me into a business account because I’m buying so much…

So my score can’t be so bad….

And Schufa dependencies will change soon, maybe…

I don’t need credit, I already have my house, with pool and car – and woman and child enough reason to…

So… Yes burglars are recognized and tracked by my two IR cameras and my doors are very robust and I also have a smartphone…

What should happen – except that the Russian presses on the wrong button…

Singuli

Of course, you don’t find anything public. But that’s the dangerous thing. For example, a score is determined for you at the Schufa and you can’t even understand how it comes

deruser1973

I know the principle….

But look for information from me (if you know my real name), you don’t find much…

Others are worse…

I respect where it goes – so I don’t use a discord… and Nextcloud on own servers…

Singuli

Well, it is not only data protection, it is because data could sometimes be lost. And who knows who has the data when data is in the world, you won’t get it away. And later, she may be used to make any disadvantages

deruser1973

So I find the personalized advertising very helpful, I don’t have to look for long, but I always find the right one for me.

If Alexa had the code to connect my heater (Viessmann) to OpenHab, then I would be euphoric…

But of course you’re right about data protection…
