Who lives with an umbilical hernia?
I've had a small umbilical hernia since 2021. I was pregnant last year. My belly grew to 1.60m shortly before delivery. I saw a surgeon three weeks ago, and he said the hernia is very small, about the size of a cherry pit. He said it doesn't need surgery. I can do whatever I want. The hernia hasn't grown larger or caused any pain during the pregnancy.
He said surgery would only be an option if the fracture got bigger or if pain started. But he waved it off and said "if at all."
Now I just wanted to know, who of you is also living with an umbilical hernia where nothing is done?
I'm glad I didn't have to have surgery. That was an absolute horror for me.

My father for about 8 years and my grandpa for 15 years. Both have no pain or problems. Just make sure he doesn’t get bigger and that’s it.
Can you say how big the fractures are?
No, I didn’t ask my grandpa or my father. But with my grandpa, he seems to be bigger because he wears an extra belt while my father is allowed to run “without everything”.
Thank you. There is probably not a great deal of interest in me.
Hello Covocockie,
Since my childhood, I have a navel fracture, which has been thoroughly examined by various doctors in my long-term medical history. Not every navel break has to be operated, but it is essential if it causes problems (pain). I still regularly go to the investigation, even if this is never pleasant! But now I know how important it is.

I had an innate navel fracture, which never closed off by itself and ran around 29 years with pre-curved navel and never had any complaints (except the “unnormal” appearance of the navel). The gap was approx. 7-8 mm in diameter, the navel was approx. 1/2 cm hemispherical towards the outside.
Then, for cosmetic reasons, I had it operated with 29 years and now a sweet “nabelloch” .
Was the surgery bad?
No, it was made in a day clinic outpatient under general anesthesia. The surgery itself took approx. 20 minutes, after 3 hours of rest I was allowed to go home again. The pain was bearable (like a very strong muscle cat).
I’d just be afraid of full anesthesia
I had a navel break. Size was unknown. However, again and again some intestine bulges through the navel fracture, which I regularly pressed back.
Then a network was placed in front of this network.
Some time later I was double-replanted and I was told that the net was removed and not renewed.
So I’m going to bleed with navel fracture and have no problems with a piece of intestine that wants “out”.
So you first had a bulged navel break, then with net a bulged navel and now he’s out again?
How did he like you best?
After transplantation, he was no longer arched.
Normal appearance I found the most beautiful, so not curved
