The ÖPNV has disadvantages in rural areas – still. But because your question targets less pollution of the environment: ÖPNV clear and environmentally friendly.

This is even more clear in the city. Because not only eco-, but also speed advantage. For example, I come from downtown Ludwigshafen am Rhein to downtown Mannheim with tram in 12 minutes. By car, I needed more than twice the time, and I sold my car. And often the train stops in the city (almost) right where I want to go. Take the car to the garage first. Costs extra money. So in the city much more than climate and environment, also very personal benefits.

Whether the ÖPNV really is less polluting the environment depends on how many passengers are in the transport mode.

Correct, because bus and train consume far less fossil fuels than their own car. These are facts and there is nothing to discuss about.

This is fact.

That’s right if he’d drive otherwise.

Not opinion, but facts are in demand. The slightest CO2 load goes by bicycle (!) when the next one comes to walk, then collective movement in particular in local transport, then only driving communities. The most horrific is the selfish individual transport movement.

Definitely. Always fit into a bus 60/80 people into a Stino tram 130. Sure they aren’t full, but both of which are really empty is extremely rare.

I.d.r., however, a lot of time is going to be lost. Find it hard.

Depends on where…

Especially in the city you also save parking, refuel, workshop dates etc. .

Get in, get in…

Absolutely. In principle, several persons are moved over a short or longer distance.
