Catfish has a big belly?

Hello,

My small catfish (about 3-4 cm) has a big belly and has had it for a few days. The other catfish in the tank look fine (no big belly, etc.). There are roots and a piece of wood in the tank. Is there any way to help the little ones?

thank you in advance

When ancistrus get thick bellies at once, in most cases water collects in their abdomen. Water that can no longer be excreted because the osmotic regulation of the fish does not work properly. That can have many reasons. Unfortunately, this accumulated water loads the entire organism so that these fish usually die of organ failure.

no, only pay attention to excellent water, i.e. frequent, generous partial water change, so that the germ and bacteria density remains low

If my Panzwerwel gets this way, it’ll take a bit and he’ll laugh.

Wels are not like catfish. What is it? And you got a picture? This allows you to better judge the state.

males or females? Suspicious females are rounder before egg deposit. That’s what she probably does in the cave… It may also be that the feed offer was very good. My Google image is not noticeable. Look, he’s still small. Then he shouldn’t be sexually mature.

If he’s not sick, you don’t have to…
