Puppy from Austria without rabies vaccination?

Hello everyone,

We bought a puppy from Austria.

However, when we bought the dog we were not told that it had to be vaccinated against rabies in Germany.

At the first visit to the vet, the vet told us that this had to be reported.

If we are fined, who is liable?

Only after at the earliest 3 months (12 weeks) can he first receive the first vaccination and then the second 3 weeks later.

In other words, young puppies are allowed to enter Germany “immunized” only at the earliest 15 weeks.

And about the exploration of entry regulations, you should get yourself in time as a dog owner – this is a holocaust and no accompaniment.

Btw : A punishment will probably not bring it. Is there countless people who buy “illegal” animals on the German highway “without papers”. If there is a penalty, you must pay it, of course.

What comes to the buyer is probably decided by the competent Veterinary Office… even a euthanasia of the puppy is legally possible… or even a quarantine of the puppy until the aftermathed rabies is valid (3 weeks).

Well, if you buy illegal puppies at the proprietor and bring them across the border, you’ll be liable for it.

Nowadays, there is every possibility to inform you about the situation. With “we didn’t know and nobody told us” you can’t talk out.

the toe is paying the puppy again anyway. At best with quarantine, at worst with his life.

All costs for quarantine etc. are paid to her. And probably still a juicy fine upstairs.

What does family breeding mean? Does the dog have official papers or not? I don’t think so. Then you don’t even use a letter that I can print you out. It’s worthless.

I think so. The family tree is probably based by some Firlefanzverein and just like this certificate. The puppy must also be under 12 weeks old. And obviously he doesn’t have any other vaccinations like jam or parvo. It can’t go with right things.

Now I strongly doubt that the breeder stands on the law… the paper or this so-called certificate is worth nothing.

If I bought a car at the car house, the salesman has never told me that I need a driver’s license for the vehicle and that I have to get to the TÜV regularly with the vehicle. Either I know that, or I ask myself as a holder in time.

You should’ve informed yourself. You didn’t.

Now you have to stand for it and pay whatever it is to pay for fines and quarantine costs.

Relatively probably the dog is quarantined. With luck under house, with bad luck for the puppy in a suitable facility. cost you

Of course you are liable to bring the puppies to Germany without respecting the applicable laws.

that the dog must have a great anger

I’ve never heard of that before. What is an abuse?

You, for you have introduced the dog to Germany, so you should have informed yourself.

In Germany, vaccination against rabies is not required. This also applies to imports of animals from EU countries.

Where does the veterinarian want to report?

That’s wrong!

Incorrect when the puppy was bought in Austria and moved to Germany is a valid vaccination rule without which one cannot spend the puppies over an EU border.
