Budgies don’t know how to fly freely?
Hello,
I have had 5 budgies for 3 weeks now and 2 cockatiels for two weeks.
I give them free rein all day, but only the nymphs go in and out because that's what they were used to with their previous owner.
The budgies never had free flight before and they don't go outside either.
Could it be that you don't see the doors or you don't know it. If you don't know it, how do I show it to you?
Food and water are in front of the door
aside from the caution in the time of reconciliation, there are birds that are barely alive the free flight – or the simply “faule bags” are… 🙂
How old are your Wellis?
In this problem, the deceiting is the optimal cage location and the available suitable routes of flight, as well as the associated starting and landing sites.
The optimal cage location is always clearly above the heads of the upright man.
It should be clean, bright, easy to use and protected from multiple pages.
Also from the eyes of man.
Only then do the waves take it by themselves and gratefully as their protected retreat.
This area is also taboo for people.
The routes should be straight and as long as possible.
The starting and landing sites should be equipped with natural woods, located as high as possible in the room and in Downward direction to be non-obstructed.
Best regards

I used to hang out the food completely for a few weeks in the afternoon. Same place as usual, just outside to the grid. Two hours or so before the end of the free flight it came back in. In the beginning they waited, then only briefly eaten outside and when they were used to turn out outside again (located seat was right next to the feed hops) the cups were hung in again. This took about 3 weeks in total. If the cups were outside, there was no lining in the cage.
PS
Influenza guests help a lot, especially those who project from the inside to the outside or are under the cage door, so that they are straight or mounted transversely in the cage door, so that they can sit there without shaking.
Alternative: Food outside and offer a piece of fruit or vegetables. When the nymphs eat, the Wellis will be curious someday.
If they didn’t know it earlier, they barely know it was right
You would have to take off the upper cage, then they would be practically free and would follow the nymphis.
Birds generally fly through a door or a narrow passage. They can easily hurt themselves and therefore avoid this.
You can offer them a walk through the door. So you’re gonna throw a branch when they get out. Then they can pass the constriction on foot.
Can the Wellis fly. I had a Welli who couldn’t fly after an accident. He was very cautious and is usually glued around the cage.
But they can fly very well
Give them time. Perhaps they fear the larger customs?
Don’t force her. Feed her in.
