Keeping a budgie alone?

Hi, my name is Tim and I'm 14 years old. After my questions about nudity, let's move on to a different topic. I've had a budgie for a year now, and I really love him. However, I read online that it's bad for my budgie to be alone. Is that true? If I buy my budgie another one, does the gender matter? And will my budgie stay tame, or will he forget everything?

Yeah, you should definitely get him a partner because wave-sittiche are swarm birds. The sex does not play too much, but a male and a female or two males are best tolerated. And yes, of course, he remains tame.

PS: also have two waves (w&m) and they are very fond, cuddling and sweating together;)

I’m just new to you, nude questions?!😁 Okay, sorry.

Well, here comes my knowledge: that’s true, waves shouldn’t be held alone. But it could be difficult to get a second to it. So let it go.

Living waves alone are more related to humans, which is the advantage

PS.: we also have 2 waves

To hold waves alone is possible.

This requires a qualified individual attitude so that the individually held bird can establish a social relationship with a human reference person.

However, this also means that this reference person with the bird is a very long-term, up to 15 years old, and a very time-intensive daily commitment.

That is why this attitude is only suitable for people who can afford such a commitment even with high self-discipline over years!

Best regards

Good question! He needs a partner. Wellis are swarm birds.

If the gender plays a role, I can’t tell you:(

Of course, he remains tame.

And no Wellis from the zooshop 🙂

Ah ok 🙂

No, don’t worry. He gets a little more independent but not bare.

I was also told in the department that you were supposed to hold them.

That’s why I bought two for my daughter.
and works very well.

Hello, Tim, don’t worry, your Welli stays tame. I had only one first, but there was another canary on board. Then got another Welli, and everything worked wonderfully. With hospitable greetings Renate.
