Which USB-C HDMI cable for my phone?

Hello, I am looking for a suitable adapter with which I can connect my mobile phone to my TV so that I can display the mobile phone screen on the TV.

I had already bought a USB-C HDMI cable with 4K/60FPS performance, but it kept breaking the connection and had to be reconnected repeatedly.

Now I saw that it could be the phone, I have a OnePlus9 Pro and wanted to know if you could recommend some good cables with the performance (4k/60FPS) for that phone.

I see the danger that the cable is too heavy for the smartphone, as well as wireless connections that are even cheaper.

I would try it with a USB to Display Port adapter.

You don’t need a cable at all. This goes wirelessly over the common WLAN, is called different depending on the smart TV manufacturer

  • Screen Mirroring
  • Screen Sharing
  • Smart view

Of course, this has to be activated on TV to allow the TV to do so.

Both devices smartphone and TV must be connected to the WLAN router. Whether the TV is connected to the router via Wi-Fi or via LAN cable, the main thing is connected to router.

Here explains:

Good luck!

Your question was

… connect my phone to my TV…

Now you write

…PS2 games to play on

I suspect that your smartphone is ultimately overwhelmed by WLAN. The computing power of the smartphone is not sufficient to

  • supply the PS2 emulator with computing power
  • and provide the PS2 game with computing power
  • to calculate the high-resolution image output for a large screen without proper GPU
  • and also to send this video output via WLAN

It’s stop only a smartphone, it is No Game console like a PlayStation or Xbox, which are built for this purpose “games”. The GPU of the smartphone cannot be much compared to the GPU of a console. Most likely, the CPU of the smartphone must use a lot of computing power to support the weak GPU of the smartphone. If there is even strong WLAN traffic (yes, high-resolution video images need a lot of data rate), your smartphone makes the grätsche.

Conclusion: Do not override the smartphone, prefer to use a game console that is built exactly to it.

Good luck!

You don’t need a cable. It’s kind of a smart view of the phone. But can’t give you any guidance because I don’t use it myself.

I use the following Adpter for my Samsung Galaxy S23.
It’s all right. You need an HDMI cable.
And with these adapters you can also connect a power supply.
Then the smartphone can be powered.
Man can also connect USB stick. Mouse and keyboard etc.
But that’s just mentioned by the way.

For your project, the support vo DisplayPort on the USB-C socket is necessary, but this only supports current models and also needs to support your smartphone USB 3.2 (maybe your only USB 2).

DisplayPort supports almost only top-class smartphones and tablets and some from the middle class.

If your phone supports HDMI with 4K/60FPS, then I would check if it might be a driver problem

You do not need a special adapter when both devices are on the same network. Then an app like “All Mirror”.
