Welcher Untergrund nach Kaninchen Kastration (Weibchen)?
Hallo, meine beiden Häsinen wurden diese Woche kastriert, aufgrund von Gebärmutterkarzinomen. Nun habe ich den ganzen Stall mit Zellstofftüchern/Küchentüchern ausgelegt, weil mit Hobelspänen etc. die Wunde verschmutzen würde. Leider zerreißen meine Kaninchen die Tücher sehr oft und ich habe immerzu Angst, dass sie auch mal Teile davon fressen. Sie leben in Außenhaltung, weswegen ich leider auch nicht immer einen Blick auf sie haben kann 🙁
Jetzt zu meiner Frage: Kann man noch etwas anderes als Untergrund verwenden mal abgesehen von Handtüchern? Und wie lange habt ihr eure Kaninchen damals auf speziellem Untergrund gehalten als sie kastriert wurden?

About 10 days – depending on how the wound develops, even longer.
Very soft hay, meadow, stone slabs, bark mulch or wood chips are in order. I’d be careful. Did you get a body like that?
Make sure your rabbits can’t jump up anywhere so that the wound doesn’t start again.
Thanks for the quick answer. Yeah, they both got a body. How would you care about meadow, etc? What could happen if I take meadow as a ground?
It’s just supposed to be grass. If there are rough stems in between, I would remove them.
But with the body the wound is already well protected anyway.
If it’s raining, you’ll have to take another look. Dreck shouldn’t come.

Towels above a duvet cover are best. Just buy some extra for that they’re not so expensive.
