Which equestrian sport is the most dangerous?

In which equestrian sport do the most accidents happen? Or rather, which sport do you view most critically? When I ask this question, I'm thinking more about the horse's health. I thought horse racing was an absolute no-go for me. Over time, however, I've seen more and more terrible things in all equestrian sports. Now I've taken a closer look at polo, and what they do to their poor horses shocks me… Just these horrible pulling-up tendons, which seem to be common practice. And then there's a collision and suddenly the horse is simply replaced and the game continues. I find it terrible that horses are (still) treated like this in sports today.

How do you see this and which equestrian sport presents the biggest problems for you?

So I’m here! I thank you for really interested in the well-being of animals in this “elite sport”..

Regarding Polo: Honestly speaking, the sport has and would be very interested in me, but how all polo ponies/- horses are constricted to this day – and I have not seen anyone yet with whom this is not so (Irrtum naturally reserved) – is not at all for me and has therefore prevented me from trying this sport ever!!!

Even the rapid manoeuvres in which the focus (logically) lies on opponents and game – but not on their own partner horse itself, for me – with this kind of “equipment” – is an absolute “no go”!!!

It is simply a “poverty certificate ” and has nothing to do with horse-just anymore!!!

Unfortunately is also here; the faster and different trump! In order to continue in the International (Polo-) Sport, one has to take on international practices or Adapt regulations – sadly – whether you want or not.

With a horse-friendly, and one’s own training adapted to the horse one stays on the track in this sport!

I’ve taken your post that you’ve already informed about the rules. I’m not going into it, but stay with the partner horse!

As you have already been described in detail (and very much like this) using retraction. In addition to these, however, Pelhams and even Kandaren are also liked to be used. Very bad, if not even anti-animal, I feel the combination with Stosszügel (Ausbinder)… The worst for me, however, is the use of Pelhams with straps (threaded by the suits…)!!! Not only that Schlaufzügel are used by everyone for appearance… This has nothing more to do with horse or animal justice!!! It is simply a certificate of poverty of people who want to prove themselves in this sport, can hold on a galloping horse and therefore think what heroes they are. Among other things, too, because unfortunately they are also praised/given!

I have to tell you honestly: I’m just resisting this!! A really beautiful sport that is “ab absurdum” because everyone can do it if he has enough coal. Talent is – sorry – apparently not necessary at all! How many horses are heated (as in the meantime with many sports with horses, if there is enough money) I don’t want to know…

On the track are those who train their horses reel, who take the time that the horse needs (each horse is characterized exactly as individual as ourselves).

It is also only a matter of respect for coal to be included in appropriate circles….

….PS: You mentioned the one-handed riding style in connection with Polo…You meanwhile know what I think of the – usual – equipment of polo horses.

Accordingly, I do not think that if you are not able to communicate with your partner, you will also ride one hand!!! … but it doesn’t surprise me. What I can recommend to you (even if you don’t have anything to do with Western riding (because there’s black sheep…) here too; look at the “Altkalifornische (Western) Reitweise” – and here “Jean Claude Dissyli”.

So it can look when a horse was made reel (on kandare) and you gave it the time that it needed to understand what man wants… Jean Claude Dissyli also communicated without a thumbnail… For me he is always a model

Well, for the first time you can screw up a horse with all riding sports and every riding style. to damage him – wanted and unwanted. The polo players are more likely to add pain to them.

I don’t know statistics – probably gives them. How to get it? I don’t know. Especially since there is probably only D/Europe in it, all disciplines from the USA are missing. They’re not going around with their horses.

Polo is, in any case, quite a disgusting thing – there’s nothing to talk about.

Horse races where the horses also have to jump I find very questionable, but there are very much cruel everywhere. And this starts at the Ralf from the village where the 3 years old fights through the hall (unfortunately seen) and listens to where horses get the tail fixed with a rope at the bite

All types of horse sports where animals are tolerated (soulish or physical) and things that do not fit them. In my opinion, the problem is horses = sports equipment

I don’t know. With Helgstrand or shock-emöhle, you will surely find

You can’t compare the riding styles. Of course, the versatility rider is much more dangerous than dressage riding, but yet I watch on TV 1000 times the versatility rider than some top dresser.

Not for nothing is the highly regarded Ingrid KLimke versatility rider and her famous father started as a versatility rider. A profound intentional I don’t know how many-sided horses are abused, because the riders don’t come to the destination alive.

The worst is the distance rider, where the sheikhs are. In a ride a few years ago, one of the horses was so full-doped that it had not even noticed that it had broken a leg. There are always dead horses with the Sheikhs.

And I say that as a former leisure distance rider, up to 60 km., At my time the distance riding was surely the most friendly sport – and the horses that were badly treated or overwhelmed were taken out by the veterinarians immediately.

My own RL, now dressage rider (GOldenes badge), has ridden international distances as a young woman – 20 – 30 years old. Now she conceals this time of her life – she is now 53 – because she wants to be ashamed and not thrown into a pot with the sheiks.

I fear compared to the sheikhs, Helgstrand is a PETA member.

However, there are still distance rides without sheikhs. As far as I remember, local distance riders are no longer allowed to ride on sheikh dancers. The American Tevis Cup Ritt . over 100 miles – is such a ride without a sign influence. He is considered to be the hardest 100 Meilers in the world and should still be exemplary. Three years ago, a 28j full-blooded araberin ran this ride in the essay: that is healthy.

Well, especially with the shorter rinds I had gone, there were also riders, with whose riding style I thought divinous; “It’s not enough for an E dressage.” And the same is the case with the sheikh. But horses can break them well,
