PROCOL HARUM – “A Whiter Shade Of Pale”
Hello,
This song I like most from your choice. He sounds so nostalgic as if one had lived at this time.
My parents like the song very much. I think I’ve seen the band live as a kid, but you’ll appreciate it later.
LG!
Such music is no longer written today…
But Procol Harum also had some other really beautiful songs. I only remember “Grand Hotel” or “A Salty Dog”.
I think I saw the 2006 in Baden-Baden. At some point in time it was.
To this song there were endless children. ^^
Not too much info! 🤣 With me it should have been to “Nirvana”
To barry white also😁😂
Who asked the new question and where…here at the comments? Go!
Ahh sooo…you don’t see any comments here anymore, you’ll get really foolish around Kopp
From behavior. We are still rocking the 😉🤘
I 🤭 On the subject of “Zeugungssong”.
Who has now asked how and where a new question has been asked?
Oh so… I kind of got into the wrong line….yes, boys’ powder…yes, sometimes, yeah….^^
I just understand the station or wasn’t that supposed to be for me?
Almost like woodstock xd😂
You & I are also Boys Punde Gkð😂
See new question 😆
Haha, see new question 😁
…to what song of them: “Teen…” oda “In Bloom”?…or even “come as.”^^^^
Okay, Mermaid, it’s not bad, I’m happy. ^^
I really don’t know that exactly 😂 Just that there was a younger girl. Kurhaus Baden-Baden or something. I was 9.
Oh, but not during concerts, I hope. 2006 still catching played…a ‘Jungspund’ so…grins, ok.^^
Yeah, I can’t remember so well because I’d rather have played catch with other kids or we ran around 🤭
‘Mermaid’ how did you get to see a concert? But you write, ‘you think’… don’t remember that?
2006. Can remind me dark😂was there I believe in the Dubliners😂
Probably. That would explain a lot xd
More whiskey than jar, wa…ha ha…grins^^
Well, it was ‘The Summer of Love’, not true.^
I think I was whiskey in the yar thin lizzy😂
😁😂
I can’t imagine Rock, but maybe it was a bit more violent to 🙊
Grins
Grins… ^
Salty Dog is really goil 😁
I like this as well. It has something magical of the mood for me, and beautiful melody. Interesting in this song I find that many people have already believed in the first cycles, that would be “je ́taime”
Since the song was before my time, and he wasn’t part of the song repertoire of my parents and apparently never played it on the radio when I just heard, I only met him at about 16, and from there he was very happy.
I can’t actually cross this survey, you know that. Why I’ve chosen Norman Greenbaum… as you’ve come to “Cannad Ham” and not to “Spirits In The Sky”. Not that the song is bad…just know him the least. ^^
Part 1 + Part 2 contain only singles that I had myself. In this regard (so my own singles) I wanted to ask these questions.
“Spirit In The Sky” I knew from the radio and of course I liked it. But then I found the successor single “Canned Ham” so good that I had to buy it to me 🙂
All right.
I don’t agree that music was better then. Even then there was a lot of rubbish and only the charts have become worse since then, but music as a whole is even better and more diverse.
I also believe that there are always talented and good musicians. You just have to look for them and discover them. But, of course, it’s cult, and people see it, “that there will never be anything like that.”
It can be, but it doesn’t mean anything bad if there are no more legendary artists. Personal cult has his macks.
From the list in any case “a whiter Shade of Pale”. I just like that thing.
Gruss
I think that thing belongs to the discs that everyone likes. In any case, no one has heard that said:
” ‘A whiter Shade of Pale’?
😉
Ha ha…geh’ fott! I’m going to change. ^^ I’ll post it at times.
That’s right. Somehow everyone heard that somewhere and sometime. Whereby, the statement comes to me well known … 🤭
Exactly, Heinz Becker… that was…
This is what Gerd Dudenhöffer always says in the Comedy series “Family Heinz Becker”:)

The Kinks is good but the rest is the last thing
I’m glad you like the Kinks at least 😊
closely followed by Procol Harum. The other songs aren’t like me. Except for “Cecilia”, it’s still going.
“My Generation” is an unbelievable single with a madness-sound! Considering when the disc was produced – namely 1965 – one must certify the WHO to have been far ahead of the future. I don’t know a comparable single that comes from that time.
Oh, yeah, I saw a biography about The Who. They spoke about the musical genius of Pete Townsend’s compositions.
The Who.
Great song, incredibly “progressive” for the time.
The song never gets old and loses nothing of its power.
Then the dear CECILIA came to me, in her shadow follows her Procol Harum.
Good Times… The name is program
Matching the topic … GOOD TIMES

One of my songs from the time is this:

“A Whiter Shade of Pale” is beautiful, but above all because it is strong similarities with Bachs Air from Suite D major has.
Skipped the light foundango…a mega song. I could hear it all the time.
It’s not just you. Let’s look at the intermediate tuning result: The song already has more percentage points than all other songs together!!
I only thought about “Spirit in the Sly” at Norman and then I read something else. (I didn’t even know that he made other songs. :
Then Dave, Dee……. (Find it very well.
I’ll give you another one on the way: “Hollies – The day that curley Billy shout down grazy Sam McGee”.
That just happened to me.
I’m fluctuating between The Who and Procol Harum.
Both, in their way incredible “smasher”.
Finally, give The Who the favor, since the song, as @isilang already noticed, sounds very timeless, fresh and very original, to this day…without any signs of wear.
“A Whiter.” is, at all kindness, but something in time context is caught…and there are times when I can never hear it… unlike “My Generation”…🎸😎
Yess ….ð
I like the ones best; perhaps because I can hear quiet music actually IMMER, “living” me also goes on the lizards.
but is closely followed by the who and the really cute of turtles and ddbm&t. “cecilia” for me is one of the “o nääääh”s by simon+garfunkel, “tired…” not one of my favorites of the kinks. I like this (self written) here:
“the boxer” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTb4xqaeM_E
sunny day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYIl6n_SRCI

and can you call cohen ́s “suzanne” as “popsong”? more than his others anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svitEEpI07E
and without the following, the world for me would also be poorer:
“mandala” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTb4xqaeM_E
“when i was young” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur30bn_3G58

“lucky man” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs8F1a04rHY
textually not completely without, but at that time it was funny and I (mea culpa+ ashamed me for it) still have a little bit of fun: “bobby brown” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXi_zoWr4
if it counts when only one of the two writers was band member: “white room” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VR90gQ-SIaY
(seufz) musically it was a soooo rich time!
“(seufz) musically it was a soooo rich time!“
I’m with you!
You seem to have such a great potential for the PINKS. Do you know “Mr. Pleasant”? I always liked that because of the great piano in it.
yes- sure I know that too:-D. although I liked the kinks as teen, but never had a plate of them- the only source at that time was the radio (beatclub I didn’t look at, then ran, I think, then eh papas sportschau ((g)))))); and then they were a whole time of santana, doors, led zep, wader. by this I have discovered more unknown songs from them only now in old and like them very, not least because of their often meaningful lyrics.
Very pleasant. Good song, good text.
Hello!
It’s the only thing I know about the selection.
Greetings!
Ruby
Absolutely classic!
From these artists I like Simon and Garfunkel best.
