Welcher NC für Jura?
Hallo!
The NC is always just a snapshot of the vintage. He only says that the worst candidate in this passage, who came in via his Abiturnote, had the cut x. In the next semester there can therefore be another NC. For example, he is often somewhat lower in the summer semester than in the winter semester.
At Jura, however, the NC fluctuates very strongly from university to university. I know, there was the cut to the summer semester 1.1 and the winter semester 1.0. So you’d not be able to do that. That’s exactly how I know universities that are free of authorization.
The more interesting question is whether the effort is worth reaching an even better cut. You may find out at a few universities that would consider what NCs had in the last semesters. They will always be published on the website. The fluctuations are usually not so big, so you can at least get a sense of what an NC you can adjust to. For example, if your Wishuni has an NC of 3.0, it will probably not be 1.0 in the next semester.
At some universities, Jura has no NC. The training costs are quite low there, because you can just throw everyone in a lecture room. If there is an NC at all, it is often not that high. The difficulty in Jura is much more about staying in and going through than coming in
The better the cut the better the chances to be accepted at a university.
The NC is only a limit to which section applicants have been given a place (if more applicants than places were available)
For example, the NC would now apply as many 1.0 candidates as there would be places at a university.
This means no guarantee to be accepted at any university.
Jura is even free at many universities.
With 1.3-1.6 it doesn’t matter.
