Which manufacturer makes the best cameras for filming?
Hello, I have a question. There are a lot of camera manufacturers that build cameras and I would like to know which camera from a manufacturer is the best. I suspect it is Sony or Canon, so basically both are supposed to be good for filming and taking photos.
The best is always a matter of taste, some look at Sony others on Canon, Nikon or Fuji. All have different advantages and disadvantages. And it still depends on the specific model.
Sony had the nose a bit ahead for a long time in the video area, but Canon has recently recovered greatly. Manufacturers like Sony and Fuji also offer professional features such as S-Log or F-Log in cheaper models. Canon has “only” HDR-PQ in the EOS R10 and in the EOS M50 nix. For the standard user who simply wants to record a video and can start nix with these terms, but not greatly relevant. A greater difference is more the usability of the camera and how it is in the hand, and Canon and Nikon have a decisive advantage. A fully fold-out and rotatable touchscreen is indispensable for Vlogging videos.
It depends, the best is not available.
For filming, it’s more like CInema cameras like RED or Arri.
Sony tends to have the nose in front of sensors, but in handling and usability it is clearly behind Canon (in my opinion). Sony is also proprietary, all its own connections while Canon shares with other manufacturers standards.
Panasonic was good at it, but they were pushed well. The rest I can’t make a statement.
There is always the right tool for the right purpose.
I look very similar.
