Mid-range cars from Audi, Opel and Ford from 1975 to approx. In 1995, the market is often relatively inexpensive and in quite good condition. Old Volvos are also recommended. Small cars are less durable.

I had a VW Polo 86c that had already exceeded the oldtimer age (30 years). The grate was of course present, but it was quite possible to handle it. There are still plenty of parts for this.

If I had the budget, I would take a bug as a convertible. It’s a really expensive fun, though.

No one, because an old-timer in the price situation requires a lot of investment and if you are not a screwdriver then becomes very difficult and especially expensive.

Oh, gosh. These are then rather super old or rare vehicles.
Vehicles like nen w201 are still good in the net parts for. And most of the things are super replaceable.

And most of the things are super replaceable.

But not if you reject your own screwdriving skills. This ends up bad for most and gets expensive.

Parts must also be replaced by modern cars. They are much more expensive and much worse. Just there you should be able to do it yourself or get rid of money for small cars like a Hyundai i10 from which you can easily get 2 of the bread and butter oldies.

As the FS already says, he gets simple things and electronics, so I don’t see a problem.

And you think that someone who asks this way has enough exercise? This would probably be a permanent garage project 😉

You’re getting great everywhere.

the engine compartment is large and very accessible you can additionally tilt the engine hood extremely far behind that you need to expand the engine hood in an engine extension up, not even the engine hood

if you have 2 left hands, you have 2 left hands, whether newer car or oldtimer.

the working time is also lower in the well accessible cars, which is also cheaper.
