Welchem Urheberrecht unterliegt ein Bildschirmfoto von YouTube?
Grundsätzlich ist das gesamte YouTube-Video erstmal urheberrechtlich geschützt. Für einen Artikel in meinem Blog (journalistisch, aber mit Werbeanzeigen und in der Zukunft auch mit Premium-Bezahlfunktion) würde ich gerne einen Beitrag über “YouTuber in der Politik” schreiben und dort ein Cover erstellen, auf dem YouTuber wie Rezo und Tim Jacken, aber auch der britische Niko Omilana und Fidias Panayiotou aus Zypern abgebildet sind (schwarz-weiß eingefärbt und freigestellt).
Jetzt stellen sich die Fragen: Kann ich einfach 4 Screenshots aus deren YouTube-Videos machen, das Cover designen und samt Inhalt auf Instagram und Website hochladen? Ist das überhaupt möglich, oder wie? Gilt hier eine Fair Use Policy und Zitatrecht, wenn man auch bedenkt, dass es journalistischer Content ist, der aber durchaus auch Einnahmen erzielen kann? Muss ich jedes Land betrachten, oder gibt es eine einheitliche YouTube-Regelung? Ist die 15-Sekunde-Regel aus §10 des Urheberrechts-Diensteanbieter-Gesetz (UrhDaG) hier anwendbar?

The creator of the video basically also has the copyrights on a screenshot. You can use it as part of the citation right. What you want to do is basically possible to me, just look at what the exact conditions are.
“Fair Use” is a common law regulation (especially the USA). The US copyright is generally less stringent than the German. So if you are allowed to use a content here, you can usually do it in the USA.
In my knowledge, the WatchDaG applies only to the responsibility of the platform, not to copyright itself, so it does not really help you.
Yeah, that should go. You only have to observe the copyright rules from your country.
