Which number is meant here?
So in a video someone said "Seventeen hundred thousand"
Does he mean 17,000 or 17,100 or 170,000?

Have you ever heard the saying "Thou shalt seek beeches, thou shalt avoid oaks" in reference to what to do during a thunderstorm? Of course, you shouldn't stand under a tree at all. But how did the people who coined the saying come up with this idea in the first place?
A stationary test charge q_e = 1.6 × 10^−19 As is accelerated in a homogeneous electric field E = 10 kV/m from x1 = 0 cm to x2 = 30 cm. The influence of gravitational force on the test charge is negligible. Calculate the potential energy in the starting position, after 30%, and after 50%…
Hello, I (14) have a question. I'm interested in radio signals (from SDRs), analog TV signals, and electrical circuits, and would like to learn about them, but I don't know where to start (and if I need programming knowledge—and if so, which language). Can you help? Thanks.
I really don't understand how to begin this calculation, since there's a minus sign in front of each bracket, and this minus sign in front of the bracket reverses all the arithmetic symbols in the bracket. So, if I start calculating as usual at the innermost bracket, I no longer understand the minus sign in…
Is a type of precipitation.
Hello, I will soon be studying mathematics at the Karl-Ruprecht University in Heidelberg and wanted to ask what will be happening there. Kind regards
“Seventeen hundred” = 1700, so “Seventeen hundred thousand” = 1700000.
I’ve never heard of the German. The construction is available in English, but I would also consider rather unusual.
In German, there is not this number word.
You can of course search for analogies:
100 thousand: 100,000 (hundred times a thousand)
two hundred thousand: 200,000 (two hundred times a thousand)
three hundred thousand: 300,000 (three hundred times a thousand)
etc.
seventeen hundred thousand: 1,700.000 (seventeen hundred times a thousand). That would be a million seven hundred thousand.
1700000
1.7 million
a million?
1.7 million
