Which SSD? PCIe 3 or PCIe 4?
I wanted to get an SSD, but I don't know which one.
That's what it says on my motherboard.

I downloaded several games from Steam, but I can't see them in the library… can anyone help me?
Hello, first of all, I'm not getting my PC for another week and I plan to create a Steam account and buy and play the game Rust for €30. However, since I'm losing patience and my sister has a PC, I was wondering if I can create a Steam account on her PC so I…
Hello, I have an SSD in my PC that immediately jumps to 100% capacity as soon as I connect it. I can't access it through the file manager or any other program. All processes I try to run that involve or use the storage device take forever to load, never finish, and crash immediately. In…
Hello, I recently bought a MacBook. Before that, I was using Windows and also used my hard drive (WD Elements) on it. But now I want to switch to a Mac and need to transfer some photos from my phone to the hard drive. Since the hard drive isn't formatted for iOS, I can't upload…
Hello everyone, My MacBook, which I haven't used for a few years, has a very swollen battery that's even pushed open the back. I've removed it, but I'm hesitant about whether I can remove the battery or whether it's a bomb. The MacBook hasn't been turned on in ages. The MacBook has more of a…
your board kanm 4.0
Is the question whether your CPu can do it if it can only 3.0 then keep running all at 3.0
If it runs with 4.0 it runs with 4.0
Also under the right
I have the i5-11400f
It runs with 4.0
No dimg 🙂
Thank you
If you use it as a system plate, consider that it has TLC or even MLC NAND cells, not QLC. In addition, a DRAM would not be bad.
You can also use QLC NAND SSD as a data grid.
PCIe is fully up- and down-compatible, meaning you can easily operate a PCIe3.0 SSD at a PCIe4.0 interface and a PCIe4.0 at a PCIe3.0 interface that determines the slower member the maximum data transfer rate.
If you use a PCIe4.0 SSD at a corresponding interface, your CPU must also have PCIe4.0 lanes to enable you to use the transfer rate of ~2GB/s per lane.
Except for games that use direct storage and are installed on this board, you have hardly any practical benefits from the double transfer rate of PCIe4.0 compared to 3.0.
can I use the 980 PRO NVMe m.2 ssd as a system plate?
