This is different from board to board and depends on different chipsets or sometimes even BIOS versions.

In general, this base was created in 2017 with the then new Ryzen Series introduced and produced by 2022. The socket supports all processors of the Ryzen 1000, 2000, 3000 and 5000 series.

Ryzen 9 for socket AM4 is available only with model numbers 39×0 and 59×0. Threadrippers do not fit.

More accurate and all compatible models can be found in the CPU compatibility list of your motherboard on its website.

Do you even have a motherboard with AM4 socket?

In ASUS, a motherboard of ASUS would normally have to be installed. Which ASUS PC do you have? (Should be on the computer housing either at the back or at the bottom of it)

Was this a complete PC from DELL, HP, Medion or similar providers exclusively from complete systems?

So that’s a good thing with Google.

If you are looking for the best gaming CPU AM4: Spoiler is not a Ryzen 9

7800x3d is AM5

The best for gaming on am4 is the ryzen 7 5800x3D – so no Ryzen 9

Better p/l but offers the 5700x3D
