In chronological order, you should start with the pilot films. They are a bit harder to find, but there are re-uploads on YouTube and they can be fetched for a little money on prime video. The main squadrons can be found on Netflix, so you have to make sure to watch the “Day of Memories” special between Staffel 6 and 7 (Find YouTube films and DVD) and that everything from Staffel 11 is counted on Netflix as a separate series.

However, I recommend a different order: in your question you have already mentioned the rise of the dragons. This is not a special order, but a continuation of the original series. My recommendation is to start with this sequel, because the original series is very long and ends with a catastrophic last season, so in the end you will probably feel that it would not have been worth watching the series.

So start with “Ninjago: Rise of Dragons” and if you like it, you can look at the original series if you want as a kind of prequel (in the order I described above). And don’t worry: “The rise of the dragons” can also be looked at without knowing. Have fun with a fantastic series!
