This looks like an ICE 1 in the usual coloration of the Bundesbahn (see https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/productfarben_der_Deutschen_Bundesbahn).

This is not a locomotive, but the drive head of an ICE 1 or ICE 2.

An ICE of the series 401. Only he had these strips!

This is the Br 216 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.

The 216 in orient red has a white lobe and the drive head 401 still has the 2 colored IC coloration red/violet. The picture should have been taken at the beginning of the 1990s. Both vehicles still bear the logo of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.

Oh, that’s an ICE 1 or 2. Simply painted with silver strip. That’s how they were.

How do you get that? The only visible reference to the owner shows no indication of the German railway

The Deutsche Bahn and the Deutsche Bundesbahn are completely different, the Deutsche Bundesbahn was the Westbahn 31 years ago and the Deutsche Bahn is the current Zuggesellschaft in Germany!
