Which graphics card for ultra 4k gaming?

My current setup:

MSI Monitor (144 HERTZ, 4K)

Ryzen Threadripper CPU (12 core)

GTX 1070 Strix (graphics card)

32GB RAM

2x 2TB Ultra M2k SSD

Internet (500 MB download, 50 MB upload)

Which graphics card would you install here? I want a better graphics card that can run 4k on ultra settings at 120 FPS. Best regards

There are also disadvantages and today’s development not yet fully feasible. Either one places great emphasis on image quality or image frequency for fast reactions. Otherwise you have to make 7-10 years old games to create high performance and fast image

Joa, very expensive and a rtx is significantly more than 2k. But don’t stop from 165 hz

Hello Frontline,

  • With the 1070 you get about 70 FPS in Full HD
  • With a 4080 Super you get about 70 FPS in 4K

120 FPS in Ultra in 4K are not possible with some AAA games even with 4090.

I would recommend WQHD, or at 4K a few settings on medium.

Hello Frontline,

I guess Dota2 is also braked by the CPU, just like Starcraft 2.

4k vs Full HD: that goes 100% only on the graphics card, exactly. 👍

  • 4k has 4x more pixels than Full HD, so exactly 4-Fache computing power
  • WQHD has only 1.8x more pixels than FullHD

With my Ryzen 5700x @4.5 GHZ I have in SC2 at Coop if much lot is + Ultimate ability then partly still drops on 50 FPS, with the old Ryzen1600 @3.2 GHZ even drops on 10 FPS… 😉

Hello,

you don’t have much choice for the requirements. An RTX 4090 or RX 7900XTX are announced. You don’t get the 120 FPS at 4K anywhere.

I don’t know any tests, but I think there’s a RTX 4090 to be required, even in Tripple A titles 120 FPS.

Generally.

No matter what application you have the budget, a high-end graphics card from the Nvidia RTX series will bring you this performance.

I prefer the RTX 4090.

Hello Frontline, 4090 vs 4080 is waste of money … prefer to take a 4080, and the saved money hebe to buy in 3 years an RTX 6080.

The 4080 is almost 4x faster than your current 1070

I can’t tell you how the course goes. Right after the release of the 5000s, there will probably be no significant price reduction.

Yes, the top model often has +80% price at +20% performance… 🙏

In that did. I didn’t think about it myself.

What titles? 4k/120FPS is not a statement unless you tell us what games you mean.

By the way, your Internet line is not relevant to the question.

For most games, you should achieve good results with a 4080.

Starcraft 2 is limited by the CPU as only 1 core is 100% loaded.

Forza Horizon 5 you need to get a few details down, otherwise the 4090 does not make it. 😊🙏
