What furnishings for medium-sized hamsters?

Most of what you can buy is about the size of a dwarf hamster, so I can't think of anything other than branches and large tunnels/tubes that I could put in a golden retriever's cage.

So I don’t know exactly how the question is meant right now… 😅

What you should do outside branches and tunnels/tubes would be a multi-chamber house, with Rodipet or Getzoo there are good, even those who have a larger entrance (extra for Mittelhamster).

Then there should also be a wheel, for example, at Getzoo there are also large (up to 33cm diameter, if I don’t tumble), which are also suitable for mid-summer.

Yes, so you can look at the Beiden online shops as there are extra furnishings for smaller & larger hamster species.

You’re just gonna get crap in zoo shops.

At div. Online dealers, however, there are accessories in medium size, e.g. Rodipet or jam shop.

Most of what is available in zoo shops is unsuitable: too small, badly processed and made of pine wood.

Here is a pretty good checklist: https://www.hamsterinfo.ch/wp-content/uploads/Checkliste-05-2021DE.pdf

(They also have examples)

A multi-chamber house with at least three chambers without floor, an impeller with at least 30cm diameter without sprouts and a sand bath about 25x25x10cm are the most important. In addition, other hides such as cork tubes, ceramic houses in the sand bath, other paddle material and very important: adventure food such as millet or flax.

Suitable food is available in feed crows or feed paradise, this should be scattered.

There are facilities at getzoo, jam or rodipet (Rodipet is more expensive).

If you need good ideas, I recommend @plueschraupe on Instagram or YouTube!

Above all, it should not be a cage, but a sufficiently large enclosure.

On the page you will also find the minimum dimensions for cradles. Cages are always unsuitable.

I understand you’re being attacked. You should ask first.

I just want to briefly explain why “Käfig” is not good here: A cage is defined as a “space for captive animals whose walls consist of lattice bars, wire grids or similar” (Google). Also, a cage is often a cage cage.

And since this is still widespread, of course, one also thinks of it.

That’s why I usually ask first, especially since you want to inform you!

It’s not the same. Google “Käfig” and you get grids. And there are too many kids who keep their hamsters in cages, which is life-threatening for the animals.
