All camera manufacturers improve their tracking from generation to generation. In the X-T5, the resolution was additionally raised to 40 MP. How this is happening in reality remains to be seen.

As far as I know, the X-T3 already has a much better tracking, as it got the X-T4 tracking delivered by firmware. The X-T5 inherits capabilities of X-H2 with the ability to track animals, cars, trains and aircraft. Fuji’s tracking capabilities are still under the bar of competitors such as Canon and Sony.

If the XT-2 is enough, the X-T5 would be good for the difference in resolution. 7728 x 5152 is a little difference to 6000×4000, almost a 1.3-fold teleconverter (if you take a 6000×4000 cutout).

If successors weren’t better, no one would buy it. Sports photos are also quite simple and that has been photographed for decades, so actually pellet for a semi-distant modern camera. I would never ask that question. You can imagine, for example, if you photograph swallows in the flight, because that is really challenging for photographer and AF system.

But is not a big challenge for a somewhat newer camera. You’ll also make his pictures.
