Wisdom teeth extraction – what are your experiences?

Good morning!

Well, tomorrow is the day – I'm getting all four wisdom teeth removed under local anesthesia. And as is often the case, the closer the surgery gets, the more scared I get 😉

According to the doctor, my wisdom teeth are easy to remove – one (bottom right from me) is already halfway out, the rest haven't erupted yet. I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences – how long did the procedure take, did you have any problems during it (circulation, etc.), how bad was the pain afterward, what helped, etc.

Or possible complications, such as injury to the nerve in the jaw.

There are certainly some other scaredy-cats who would be interested in this ^^

I would also be very grateful for some tips on how to survive the miserable days afterwards.

Thanks in advance for your answers, I hope you can help me a little!

The doctors told me about the X-ray that they’re just gonna get them out if I have problems because they’re so complicated and dangerous. I therefore do not think it is appropriate to describe my experiences when your doctor has said the absolute opposite;)

For the days after: Breie (baby bread, for example, which are nicely mild), stews, soups, toast bread, milk rolls, and quark and yogurt, if your antibiotic allows that.

Moin, do you really want to do this to read out horror stories of others here a day before your surgery? Letting wisdom teeth is really not entirely without. The uppers go out relatively easily because the upper jaw is open to the sides and the teeth can be broken out virtually with pressure outwards. The dentist in the lower jaw can then also have decanted, which the dentist can see in the X-ray image. Depending on how they lie, it’s easier or harder to get them out. I removed the lower ones under general anesthesia. That’s why there’s nothing. However, the swellings were not entirely without. The first time only drinking straw and porridge, hamster jaws and finally hematomas on the cheeks. Press the thumbs!

I got my wisdom teeth pulled in a two-pack, first the one side, then a few weeks later the other.
The lower ones were hard to remove, according to the doctor.

I had problems during and after that I had no problems. I got painkillers, I took one after the first time, the second time no one at all.

It was hardly swollen.

I’ve eaten a few days more soft things.

I was only the day of the surgery and the day after it wasn’t at school.

I pulled three at once. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s unpleasant. I found the afterhes very unpleasant, had a lot of bleeding, I was always bad and I was really slapped. Was written sick a week. You definitely need pain tablets. But it’s over, and then you’re quiet.

Hello first:)

I should also have the wisdom teeth out, but I refused because it is not necessary to get them out. For the reason, I didn’t want it because of the nerve.

I had a pine surgery a half year ago (similar to a Bimax OP) and there was already pre-programmed that the nerve is “insulted”. The feeling is getting better. I really feel the right side completely, but the left is tingling only when I touch it. According to the doctor, everything comes back because he’s sure he didn’t separate the nerve.

And as the nerve is recovering so much, I have no jack that they are annoying my poor nerve 😀 and I do not notice anything again and I may never feel anything again.

So that’s my experience with the nerve.
