White spot on my Molly?

About two weeks ago I noticed that one of my mollies had a white spot on its tail fin. At first I thought it was nothing serious, maybe a little injured somewhere, but now I'm a bit doubtful. I looked it up online and there was something about white spot disease, but with this disease it's supposed to mean there are several white spots, but my molly has only had one spot for a while now. I haven't noticed any changes in her behavior either, she eats normally like always, except that she sometimes hides from the male, but that's normal if he's constantly trying to mate.

If anyone knows what this is or has had something similar, I would be very happy to hear from you.

Hello,

Mollys are in fact very susceptible to the so-called punk disease.

Sickness picture

Ichthyophthirius multifiliis is fortunately a relatively easy to diagnose pathogens. In most cases, the infection begins with few small white spots on the fins and later on on the body. The fish show a striking behavior early on: They are shy of plants, furnishings and soil. The size of the puns is partly also dependent on the size of the affected fish. In the case of very small fish, therefore, confusion with other pathogens is possible in the initial stage. In rare cases, the parasite also only affects the gills and is therefore not recognized until the fish are already suffering from acute breath.

There are medicines against the punk disease.

And remember, this is very contagious!

You should observe this very accurately, which actually begins with a point, but then spreads quickly. Another unsightly alternative can be a mushroom. In any case, very well watch if you somehow have the possibility I would separate the fish to minimize the risk of infection for the others. If nothing has happened in a few days, you can still give a warning.

Hello, in your place, I would go directly to an animal store and let myself be advised there, there are various medicines (not so expensive) that you can use. Salt treatment is a way, but I have never tried it myself I have to confess and can therefore not say too much about it. https://www.zooroyal.de/magazin/aquaristic/salt treatment/ here it is described, for example, glg Sury121
