For courses of the Bundeswehr, pencils are required in various hardnesses which are sometimes relatively rare. In particular, the hardness “6B” can be found more in the artistic field. You can find these special pencils from the brand manufacturer Faber-Castell. The specific properties and areas of application of the individual pencils result from the mine hardness:

Pins of hardness “6B” have an extra soft mine with a deep black line. Due to the low tone content or high graphite content of the mine, the pen does not scratch when writing. They can therefore also write on wet paper without tearing it apart. The disadvantage of the soft pin is that it becomes quickly blunt.

Pins of hardness “2B” are ideal for writing. They are slightly softer than the usual pins of hardness “HB”, which makes writing very pleasant. The line is black.

Pins of hardness “H” are somewhat harder than the usual pins of hardness “HB”. They are also very well suited for writing. The higher proportion of tone in the mine gives a fine, gray line, with which you can produce good technical drawings.
