Create a website?

Good evening,

I'd like to create a website for a small practice, but I don't want anything groundbreaking. There are plenty of websites online where you can create one relatively easily.
I'm now interested to know if you have any experience with this and if you can give me recommendations as to where I can do this easily.

Best regards

Hi,

the effort for a small practice can be different. Depending on the need, many hours of work can mean. There are several ways to create a website. For a starter, I recommend using modular systems. These are offered by many web hosters. This allows web pages to be created inexpensively and adapted for practice. IONOS, Strato and JIMDO would be offered.

Another possibility would be the use of so-called content management system for short CMS. A very popular system white is very commonly used is WordPress. WordPress allows creating and managing a website without necessarily having programming knowledge. It offers much more than a building kit. There are also disadvantages when using WordPress as a beginner. A light-weight CMS must also be understood. There must be basic knowledge of WordPress there to be able to use it. You can’t just get started like a building kit, but you have to do a lot of yourself and also worry. As well as legal as data protection and other important things. In the end, you can do a lot of damage, so you should read a book about it before, watch learning videos, etc.

So it is in your decision what solution is better for you. I hope my answer can help you find the right system for the practice website.

Moin,

I’d get rid of construction boxes. First, the ones in the functions are very limited, second much too expensive, if you want more and 3. there are problems if you want to move because every building block works differently, you can’t take your web and start from the front.

Recommend a webspace with domain and WordPress. WordPress is a very flexible content management system and you can move your web anywhere else. Small hosts are usually cheaper and friendly than the big ones like 1+1, Strato etc. and offer the same in the package.

WordPress you learn relatively fast, especially if it is nothing complicated.

There are thousands of templates and many modules. However, you should not go to WordPress yourself because they are expensive in relation to others. WordPress itself, the CMS, is free and is provided by all hosters, at the touch of a button.

When searching for Google, go beyond page 10. Small hosts are also hiding here.

Wix.com and webflow have been used. Wix is a bit, I felt as a bit easier and clearer than webflow, with webflow you can do more when you can. Ionos should be very good, just with domain, I can’t say anything about it. For both, I know you need a monthly subscription with monthly costs. But they also take over Hosting&co.

Use Jimdo, I also used, Pass on for imprint Privacy Policy etc.

And importantly you need to buy a domain.

There are various possibilities that have already been mentioned here. I’m just sorting it a little.

Web construction boxes such as Jimdo and Co. are very simple both in creating the website and in operation. They also have disadvantages. The selection of designs and functions is very limited. The technical tuning for example for search engine optimization is also not possible. In total, this is an all-round careless package. Just with limitations.

WordPress also likes to be traded as a possibility for beginners, which is only right under certain conditions. You can easily create a website. There is a very wide selection of templates and plugins as well as a large community. You actually get a lot of things to do… if you don’t break your wordpress because of the many possibilities available. The safe and performant operation is definitely a chapter for itself. I have a WordPress site, wordpress also likes very, but also knows quite well, as I deal with the daily attacks. This is also possible for beginners, but in comparison to the building kit one has to deal more intensively with its website and learn. But the big community is very good.

I don’t write too much about programming. There are actually quite good frameworks, but “very easy” is quite relative.

So I really think you’re going to “programm”?

Then I would recommend entering a js framework. I’d take a look at Next.Js. You will find good tutorials on YouTube.

the rest like html, css, you will learn automatically with time.

I would also not necessarily use things like wix etc, as I have had relatively bad experiences with it.

If you were a gui, look at Codux.

This is something I believe in the case of “does not become groundbreaking”. As I understand it, it should be just a simple website without learning to program for at least 1-2 months, deal with security, and then focus on things (such as imprint, construction, …) that could be started directly with building boxes or open source software like WordPress.
