Web developer/developer as a career changer?

Hello,

I'm doing further training in full-stack development, meaning both front-end and back-end.

The training lasts a year, and I've been doing it for about six months now, and I'm really enjoying it. I'll also be getting an AZAV certificate through the training, and at the end I'll be working on a final project with other people.

The goal, of course, is to work after completing the training. Maybe a two-month internship or something like that first. However, I hear from some people that it's very difficult to find a job without any kind of training or degree. But others say that there's a lot of demand in this field, and that career changers can also find jobs. I live in Berlin, just to mention it in passing.

So, what I do is publish my own projects on GitHub. I even created a hotel website with a friend from the course, and I also watch Udemy courses and work on projects there. I also copy the pages on the Frontend Mentor website. So, I practice a lot on my own, even alongside my continuing education, to show that I'm doing something.

Of course, I publish my stuff on GitHub, because I think you can understand why I'm striving to learn something. Currently, we've covered HTML, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript, and React. I'm using those, and I'll also learn Tailwind CSS.

Can you perhaps share your experiences, or if you're from the industry, can you tell us what it looks like in reality? Honestly, my boyfriend and I are the only ones who care about having a GitHub profile. The others don't have anything there.

Here is my GitHub so you can take a look: https://github.com/Adem-Tozlu .

Sorry for writing so much. I just have a lot of questions on my mind. 🙂

Hi,

the entry into a company can be different. As a cross-release, you will not have the same chances as with a trained media designer Digital and Print discipline Digital or specialist field of application development. In addition, experience can be experienced during training and the expertise is quite different from a free further education with certificate.

Of course, you can try to get to the labour market. This searches for professionals who have skills but also who have also professional experience. Just try it and if it works, great!

Hi.
I studied economics and got to know the code through my internship in an IT startup. I thought that was really nice and wanted to do it. I didn’t want to cancel my studies because two years have already invested, so I have completed a training course for the frontend developer and have been looking for a start for four weeks. I can tell you this process is very frustrating. I’ve only been getting cancelled. In some cases more than 200 graduates apply for a junior job at larger companies. I did this training only because it was always said that there was a lack of “experts”. So, I don’t know where there is a shortage of skilled workers in IT, but certainly not in the junior areas. In your place, I would look for an internship and gain real experience. I’m also working as an intern in the front-end sector, as I haven’t found a job to date. I don’t want to discourage you, but it’s important to be aware that the cross-entry is often more complex than is shown in general. I plan to try it for another 5 to 6 weeks. If I don’t find a place until then, I’ll look for alternative options.

I could tell you a lot, but that would blow the frame.
