Web designer: How do you approach new projects?

Hello,

I create websites part-time, usually only for a small group, but I'd like to know how your payment process works. Do you require a deposit before you begin?

Or do you create the website on your server and then only copy it to the customer server once it is finished and the customer has paid?

Or how do you do it? Do you have any general tips for me?

So first you should know what Webdesin is.

A website consists of several parts.

  • Web design
  • Implementation of the frontend and backend
  • SEO and SMART online marketing

These 3 parts should not be mixed

Websites that are completely implemented by web designers are usually very bad

Slow pages and wesites that are badly found in the search engine and the corresponding keyword.

Similarly, there are countless sites that are made by programming and Optisch are a disaster

Web design concerns the visual appearance on MOBIL and PC (Mobil First is important)

Good usability through well-thought menus and operating elements such as folding areas.

Implementation concerns the implementation in HTML5, PHP, Phython, JS, SQL, ….

Compliance with data protection, cookies, imprint ….

SEO and SMART online marketing includes all measures and analyses to make the website competitive and to bring Google to the Top20 even better Top10.

The more keywords are on the top3, the more clicks there is.

The more clicks a page gets the better your visibility on the net.

To do this, it is important to adapt the content accordingly

In addition, of course there are backlinks…

So you can say the design and SEO is what the visitor sees first!

Both are important.

But without good and performant implementation, both puffs.

Just like the Infinitely many web siites that remain unknown without proper SEO even if they are still implemented as well or have good design.

It doesn’t use anything to find a page only if you know its URL or at least domain.

Paying in advance will certainly not get you.

Whether your own server or customer server comes naturally to customer and project.

As a rule, however, I put on Webspace and domain and set everything up so that there is no problem there too – first on test to develop the websites

After that you only need to switch to the provider and can start the right online SEO immediately after offline SEO

Of course you need to register beforehand trade!

I’m not doing this myself, but you’re setting this up as a provider as you want. If you’re safer, do this with a deposit. Note that you do not make a complete prepayment, as complications can always be added, making it more expensive. (Other, you want to complicate it in a complicated way afterwards.)

Definitely you do not develop on the customer system. That’s something. Customer is looking forward to having something for free. Not like that. It is also possible to damage the system during the development. That’s why you always develop on a development server, that is, your own and then push it over to the customer (not before payment, best. Present the result on your server, make an invoice and then set up (don’t forget, also costs setup). That’s what I’d do.
